Oklahoma City, look out! A nude, breastfeeding Angelina Jolie is coming to town ... in statue form, of course. The latest handiwork of celeb sculptor Daniel Edwards features Jolie in the buff with two babies -- likely meant to be twins Knox and Vivienne -- feeding off of her breasts. It should probably go without saying that this work is from Edwards' imagination, and nothing that Jolie posed for or authorized. See the Pics After the Jump!
In yet another burst of celebrity-creating ingenuity, artist Daniel Edwards has cast Angelina Jolie as his statue subject. In the work, Jolie is seen breastfeeding two babies, likely meant to be her twins Knox and Vivienne. Click to See Edwards' Statues

The statue was created by Edwards in honor of World Breastfeeding Week.
According to Sandy Wilson of Phantom-Financial, the organization who funded the work, "the statue sends a beautiful message by promoting the acceptance of public breastfeeding. Mothers should be encouraged to nurture their babies anywhere."
The inspiration for the photo reportedly came from Jolie's 2008 W magazine cover photo taken by Brad Pitt, in which she's seen breastfeeding a child. Can't wait to see the statue in person? You'll have to wait until September 11 for it to be unveiled in the Oklahoma City Metro area. It will then cross the pond to London for a late 2009 display.
Daniels has made a name for himself sculpting controversial statues of celebrities. His resume includes works featuring a birthing Britney Spears and a dead Paris Hilton, both of which were nude.
What an ugly, disgusting statue. It definitely needs to be covered - PERMANENTLY! Breasting feeding is a personal choice and should be done so in private. NOT subjecting everyone in view to YOUR personal choice!
Hate to break this to you, but adults *CAN* and *DO* poop in public. Or have you never heard of Depends? Or colostomy bags? Guess you don't think old people, or folks with physical disabilities involving their colons should be allowed in public either, eh?
Considering the benefits breastfeeding has for IQ, and how poorly we Americans do whenever we're compared to other Western nations on standardized tests, I'd say we need all the boob-fed kids we can get.
The healthiest way to feed a baby is with human milk, on a frequent near round-the-clock basis. Their stomachs are too small to have just a couple large meals like we adults have, and that frequent need to feed means that good mothers either have to be locked up in a room all day somewhere, or have to be able to breastfeed in public.
Considering that seeing a little sideboob won't cause your eyes to melt, or your brain to catch fire, or Satan to pop up out of the ground and devour your soul, I really don't see the problem here. You've got the hangup, and little junior needs to eat. America is about doing your own thing, so long as you don't interfere with anyone else. The only interference a breastfeeding mom is doing to you is in your head. So, work on that. She's doing the right thing. You should, too.
Who would we complain to in the Canadian government? This spam garbage is maddening, and I'd be happy to complain to someone's in-box if there was some chance it'd help.
I look left and right, wishing to side with a team. Who will win? Will it be those for public breastfeeding or those against? This epic battle…that’s all this really is. It’s pitiful…the extents one will go through to achieve victory…we have those who say that the sight of breastfeeding is either arousing or disgusting so it shouldn’t be done in public at all…and then there are those claiming that if public breastfeeding can’t be done, then it will dramatically increase the number of people with low IQ’s…on one side it’s meant to be private and discreet like the good old days…on the other side it’s likely that all mother’s breast fed their kids, so they should automatically be willing to tolerate public breastfeeding despite their personal preference…people are willing to actually consider using their digestive system’s private parts to combat the exposure of breasts, since it’s the last resort and that’s how much they hate the thought…people are actually using the many difficulties involving the act of breast feeding to justify making it public and risking exposure… It’s all too much, really. No matter how difficult it may be for some to perform this act, the simple truth is that not everyone feels the same way. Right now, some people will not tolerate breast feeding in public locations. I’m a simple guy, and I like breasts just as much as the next guy, and I do view it as a bonding and pleasant experience between a mother and child. Unfortunately, you must understand that not everyone feels that way. Despite any difficulties breastfeeding may incur, if precautions aren’t taken to ensure that one won’t have to breast feed in public and risk exposure to the people, then it’s only right that maximum effort to conceal the act must be made. It doesn’t matter if it’s difficult for you or the baby. Others shouldn’t be made to suffer because of a failure to accommodate your child in advance. If that means you have to get off the bus or train, step outside the park, exit the theater, or simply leave your current location to go somewhere private like a bathroom, then that’s what it takes and the effort must be made. Your child won’t collapse from being a little patient. That’s what discipline is. Mothers and children need to practice it to become better individuals. It’s a good trait for them to learn as early as they can.
I feel that all mothers should do their best to make efforts to avoid breast feeding their children in public, and if they ever should have to, then they should do their best to try to go somewhere private to do it, and not resort to doing it in front of people, unless they are absolutely sure they can do it while concealing themselves, because the simple fact is that despite the mothers’ good intention, a breast is still a private part, and is not to be shown in public. You can command us to look away, but we shouldn’t have to divert our attention away. Sometimes, we aren’t even able to since it’s possible that nursing mothers may just be in our line of vision. But that’s just my opinion, and it probably won’t matter here. You say that back in the day, people used to be more secure and discreet, but now the world is becoming more open and explicit. Think about why this is happening? Perhaps people were unhappy with how things were, and they persisted in their efforts to bring about a change. The simple fact is that people with this mentality will end up in powerful positions where they will be able to end whatever is holding them back from whatever it is that they want. That’s what it’s about: what the majority of people want. I’m a polite male, and I would be happy to see a nursing mother comfortable, and I’d also be happy to see a bunch of nearby people comfortable. It doesn’t appear that I will get both, so I’m going to sit back and watch you guys continue brawling with each other about how others should feel about your opinions. Meanwhile, I’ll tell you this: whoever is the largest group, and whoever wants it more, and whoever makes the most effort will be the ones to win this battle. And by winning, I mean seeing a bill passed in their favor. Once that happens, I’ll be sure to expect some rebellion, but once again, those 3 points I mentioned before are required. I’m not too worried. I am a black man, and the reason I’m sitting here today am because enough people wanted it. Donna, I think your fear of everyone going topless or nude might come true. What will you do then? LG, aren’t many people selfish? Don’t you think that you’re being selfish by demanding your own comfort over a baby’s convenient access to food? Bellered, you dictate the many difficulties of breast feeding. Does that justify other people’s comfort being taken away because of an existing problem? Do we walk on others to get to the top? Is it really worth it? Do you feel that the public is the best place to breast feed? Everyone, is breast feeding the only cause of your discomfort out there? Will this being one less make you feel better inside? I’d like you guys to think about these questions, and write back to me with any thoughts or concerns. I read everyone’s comments on this page, because I wanted to understand how everyone thinks. To summarize, I like boobs, but there should be contained food with you, and a mother should be patient and go somewhere private to breast-feed. If the last two options are impossible, then conceal yourself while doing it. It’s just tact, that’s all. Always remember, your baby will not die from waiting a few minutes extra to eat. And yes, I am for public breast-feeding.
Isn't it strange when someone wants to do something entirely worthless or perverted and make money on it, they call it art. They have it today where you can do anything and call it art so there's nothing in the word, it's just a word, no meaning and no talent required.
Wrong...wrong...wrong...The next thing that will occur is that this stature will end up in the pyramids somewhere and some unsuspecting future geologist will thinks that the original Egyptians looked like this and this stature is a queen from the "you name it Dynasty" and distort history again...Can't you see it coming ?
I feel that my spelling is accurate, and I don't understand why you're suggesting that I learn how to spell. Have I carelessly left behind any typing errors, or is there another reason for your suggestion?
why do people think it's gross for a woman to breastfeed a baby, but it ok for a female to strut her stuff on tv or else where with a thong up her a--????????? Sick minded people!!!!
Ok, while I don't mind public breastfeeding, I just can't stand those "in your face" mothers who DEMAND the right to nurse their children in public, and DEMAND that people make concessions for them, and DEMAND that the public knows that she is indeed breastfeeding! If breastfeeding is such a special, bonding moment between you and your child, then keep it between you and your child. Stop making a a spectacle of yourself. Stop being an exibitionist! I don't require attention when I give my children their lunch at the mall--so stop it already, feed your baby and get on with your day! As far as that guys' statues--euw--just creepy!

Breastfeeding is very natural. I am from Oklahoma and we don't need that strange statue to show us that it is natural.

The sculptor should have made the statue with a titty for each kid. At least it would look like the cow she is.

I'm just wondering why a statute reflecting the natural act of breastfeeding is considered "controversial". Let's focus on important issues!

So what's the beef with this statute? This sort of thing has been on public display since the days of antiquity.
