If you are seeking alternative treatment, beware of chiropratic. If they tell you your child has "subluxations" and the can cure the child with spinal "adjustments" run out of their office. Serious medical problems call for educated people to offer help. Chiropractors are quacks with gadgets like "pro-adjusters".

My father was a chiropractor and he was NO QUACK! he helped many people with adjustments. I guess you think that just give people a pill and they will be fine. I have had many adjustments and it worked. Your a moron! Let me guess you are a prozac queen right?
While it is true, Chiropractics is not for everyone, IT WORKED FOR ME! My Orthopaedic surgeon told me at age 28, I'd be in a wheelchair by 40! I found another Ortho surgeon that told me the same thing. Then, I saw a Chiropractor who told me that was bull--t! He had my previous xrays from the Orthos; then took a new set and compared. He worked on me for five months and I was virtually pain free after the first month. I am now 59 years old and STILL OUT OF A WHEELCHAIR. At some point, my mobility will fail me, but the surgeons were wrong and I am thankful everyday I didn't just give up.
Chirporactic works, but just like everything else, it won't work for everyone every time. It's been keeping me going for over 40 years, and the only time I had a problem with it was when I needed a new chiro and went to one who used a device instead of hands-on. I cured THAT by finding another chiro. However, you can't use them for all your problems, just many.
Chiropractors are great! Hopefully you would find the right one. Medication is not the answer. Popping pills to cover the pain is no answer. I had a work related injury, and hurt my back, if I would of went to just a regular physician, he would of only prescribed medication to cover the pain, but if I would not have sought chiropractic care, I would be a prescription junkie because of the pain... Doctors (some) are just drug pushers.
So not true. Insurance companies, would not pay for treatments, if they deemed them quacks... They are professionals, if the are properly trained...
wow, L., you are the negative authority on everything here. You know all about ME's and now Chiros... now I know for sure what you are, a loser who cruises postings to lay down insults and correct grammer.
Okay Wm In Phoenix, you are entitled your opinion. Just remember that when your neck or back is so stiff or the muscles are wound so tight that it hurts to breath. I use a Chiopractor and I am so grateful for them. If it were not for the adjustments I would be in serious trouble. No I do not recommend sending a child to one, children need child doctors.
Some people have had bad experiences with chiropractors but I have been fortunate to have had top notch care by mine. They are very well educated - in fact, in many cases they have more hours of study in anatomy and physiology than some med students have. I had mid back pain for years until I began chiropractic and now, no pain meds for this for years. I also like how my chiropractor takes a holistic approach in the sense that he encourages good nutrition, regular exercise, strength and conditioning exercises, etc.. It really does make sense - much more sense than popping pills for everything under the sun.
It's easy for someone who has money and friends to say just find someone to watch your kid for date night, not everyone is that blessed.

I have found it almost impossible to find someone to babysit my ADHD/SPD-er more than 1 time-they don't want to handle his temper tantrums.
I know a child that wasn't given vaccines and got autism anyway.

True autism is genetic. A reaction to a vaccine is an allergy. Totally different situations, but with similar traits. Allergies can be eliminated non-invasively using NAET, although prior damage may not be reversible. Autism cannot be cured, but the traits can be minimized with therapies.
Vaccines are not the only thing that can cause Autism and I don't think that is what Jenny is saying either. In my child, it is what caused it. I separated the MMR to be safe. The first dose of rubella sent her into a fog. She was running around the table in a trance, she stopped talking, stopped waving, stopped pointing. It's the only thing that was different. The vaccine first caused a fever and then tantrums like I have never seen in my life. So, with my daughter, it was the live virus IM vaccine that did it. Again, vaccines are a wonderful thing, but not every child can handle them. I was like Amanda Peet before too, but not anymore. Everyone needs to look into their own family medical histories and try to decide what is best for their child. Hopefully the rates will decrease if we are more aware of what is actually going into these little ones bodies. And the amt. too. 36 vaccines before the age of 6 is much more than the 10 we got :(
Jenny McCarthy spreads lies and misinformation. If you follow her from her very first appearance on Oprah to know..her stories about her son have changed. She believes that measles coming back would be a good thing-because it would show big pharmaceutical companies to change their vaccines. In essence, she seeks to promote a pandemic. She talks of "greening" vaccines-yet lies about what is in them. Her boyfriend publicly stated that we ought to get rid of the tetnus vaccine..It is craziness! She is making an awful ot of money doing this-and yet, if you try to debate her-she'll say you are all big pharma schills. That people would listen to her over their own doctors is astounding. Vaccines do not cause autism-this has been proven over and over again.

There has been no diagnosis of Autism in my family history. I have not abused my body or my children's bodies. I have 3 kids, the youngest is affected with SSD, a form of autism.
I was diagnosed with cancer after my youngest was born. Because of the chemo, all my kids were unable to receive the live virus innocualtions because if I was exposed with no immune system, I could die.
So, using your theory... is my 'spawn' f'ed up because of my actions or non-actions?
Of course, whatever partial sentences you sputter out will only make you look more uneducated. God bless, and peace.
Wow, Melissa, that's pretty harsh. Bet you wouldn't say that to her face.
My theory, for what it's worth, is that some people are genetically predisposed to autism, and maybe the vaccines sometimes flip the switch. I vaccinate my child, and I do think that people who don't are skating by relying on those of us who do. But I'd be pretty damn upset if my kid changed overnight after getting a shot. I think we should have some understanding for Jenny Mc., but we shouldn't rely on her for medical advice.
Your comment is full of pure garbage. I've watched McCarthy through her entire ordeal & shes been nothing but level headed & full of common sense. Spread your BS somewhere else. Jenny McCarthy is doing nothing but providing an alternative for mothers struggling with autism.
You are mistaken in your belief on autism. The incidence rate is a 1000 fold increase from just 15 years ago. There is mercury used as a complexing agent in most of the vaccines given today. The MMR shot given is a combination, and to get the three to stay mixed properly, it is used. To solve the problem, all pediatricians would have to do is give three shots instead of one. This requires different visits and would increase their cost and then they will not be reimbursed by the insurance companies. Demand three different shots to keep the mercury out of your childs system!
Jenny McCarthy is a person who always has to find a cause for something when sometimes it can not be traced to genes, vaccines, allergies, it just happens. Case and point. There is ABSOLUTELY no pateral or maternal history of Juvenile diabetes in the family. I have 3 children, same parents, but only the youngest has diabetes. My preganancies were almost identical in all, no drug abuse, smoking or drinking. What caused this to happen? I do not know but I do know I have to stop worrying about a cause and concentrate on treatment and a possible cure.
