Man on a Mission to Meet Cyrus Charged With Attempted Stalking

A 53-year-old man known for his persistent obsession with Miley Cyrus was charged with attempting to stalk the 16-year-old teen idol while she films her new movie in Georgia. Mark McLeod was arrested at his home on Tuesday night after Disney security officers reported he was asking where he could find Cyrus over the weekend at the set of 'The Last Song' in Tybee Island.

This was in direct violation of an earlier order by police for him to stay away from Cyrus.

He was first arrested on June 22, outside the set of the film. Police Chief Jimmy Price said that "police officers stepped in and tried to move him out of the area and he wouldn't work with us."

"He was asking for Miley and going up and knocking on some doors" of beach homes near the set, Price said. "The security guards recognized him. In fact, he went up to the security guards and asked them 'Is Miley around?"'

Price continued that McLeod told "just kept saying they [he and Cyrus] made eye contact years ago, and they fell in love." McLeod then told an officer that "nobody will ever be able to keep us apart. We're like one," referring once again to Cyrus.

McLeod told police that he was "great friends with Miley," and that the teen star "told him to come see her today." TMZ cites police sources as saying that McLeod claimed Cyrus put out "secret messages" on her 'Hannah Montana' show directed only to him.

TMZ also reports that McLeod told police he "will f***ing be with Miley ... we're supposed to be together and [the cops] couldn't stop it."

McLeod was even interviewed back in March by the New York Daily News, when he traveled to the Big Apple to meet Cyrus at a book signing. "I'm a little nervous. This is the first time I've ever been face to face with her," he told the Daily News.

Too bad the story is truncated- The fact is that this 'hooman' is in direct violation of an order to stay away from her- He needs to get over it, he needs to remember he's 53 yrs old and she IS only 16 (regardless of what the little voices in his head are telling him) maybe a shrink is in order?

Well here is a shocker. The guy didn't stay away after he was told to. The same guy who is 53 years old with a crush on a 16 year old, thinks she is sending secret messages to him and is going to "be" with her. HELLO???? How much more does this guy have to do to get locked up? Oh I know. Let wait till he kills someone, kidnaps a child or rapes one. Then the police can say "How'd that happen? We had no ideahe would so that." F**king Morons!!!!!!

I agree completely. But he won't kidnap, rape, or kill just anybody - it will be Miley Cyrus specifically. Haven't the stalking laws, esp those regarding celebrities, been improved at ALL? Police, LOCK THIS GUY UP. Don't wait till it's too late. And to the Cyrus family, increase your steps to protect her.

I met this man at the 2008 CMA Red Carpet area. He kept insisting that he was there to "marry" Miley! He showed me a rose tha he planned to give her and wanted me to take the photos! This went on for at least a half hour or more. All the while, I was texting a friend explaining that I had met a man who had dillusions of marrying Miley and he was nuts! He told me that he had met Miley's parents and they approved of him! This man needs lots of help!

I think it's great that this a-hole is locked up and is to stay away from her, but she should not walk around like a little SKANK. I actually find this little girl to be a little PIGGY and it's hard to understand what the hell she is saying at all. She became famous just a little too soon and her parents are to blame. Her parents need to have her take some kind of speech lessons or get her braces so people can understand what the hell she is saying.

It's called de Clerambault's syndrome or Eroctomania.
He can't just "realise" that nothing is happening between Miley and him, as he has a real mental disorder, whose victims typically target people above their social status such as a celebrity.

This guy is a creep, creep, CREEP! A stalker for sure; more than 3 times Miley's age; probably older than her father. Of course, that would not register w. McLeod; logic is not a strong suite w. those type people. Until he is dead or latches onto someone else he will always be a danger to Miley. I left out incarcerated because when he gets out of prison he will go right back to where he left off before jail; that would be stalking Miley. I pity her.
