Kara DioGuardi Wants Paula Back

Kara DioGuardi is still "completely shocked" about Paula Abdul quitting 'American Idol.' She's been trying to reach the 'Straight Up' singer all week hoping to persuade Abdul to "reconsider" her decision to leave

"It's such a loss for the show, such a loss for the contestants. She's definitely the heart of the panel," DioGuardio said Friday on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

DioGuardi admits she was terrified joining the judges panel last year, but it was Abdul who eased her fears.

"The kind of heart she treated the contestants with, she treated me with last year. She was so kind to me and made me feel immediately like part of the panel," she said.

She also shot down rumors that she was hired last season as a stand-in, in case Abdul quit the show. "The way I'm understanding it is that it was her choice to leave. I never was here to replace her. It would be impossible to replace Paula Abdul. She's an incredible talent. She is somebody who helped make the show as big as it is. How could you ever replace that?"

"If anything, she was really somebody who helped me because it was awkward at times being the fourth person ... Last year, it was tough at times. Being the new kid, you get beat up a bit. I'm hoping this year that people are more accepting," DioGuardi added.

I thought the show was about finding the future recording star, this is about the contestants,not about the judges for crying out loud. This whole Paula thing is rediculous.What is with all these Paula fanatics.Geez!

Yes, it is about the contestants, but who knows better what to look for than the judges, which includes Paula Abdul. She is a singer,and
choreographer; she was one of the sensations of the 1980's! I hope that Kara, Simon and Randy can influence the "GREEDY" powers that be & give her the $'s that she so richly deserves! By the way, ridiculous is spelled with an i, not an e, not rediculous, when you see a red line under a word, it's telling you that it is spelled incorrectly. If it ain't brike don't fix it....Every judge adds to the uniqueness of AI. The whole pkg is what makes it a great show.

If all the judges evaporated, I would probably lose interest.

Hey AI....give Paula what she wants and deserves...Think the shows success is just abt the talent?....Well think again. Let's see how the ratings fair this season without PA. If ratings remain the same or increase, I'll eat crow....

I think the show will be a failure and will drop in ratings without Paula, why doesn't Simon Cowell do something to keep her, she has worked so hard since the show started on day 1 and Paula made it exciting and interesting, she is more important than Ryan, he got a big raise, why can't the producers do something for Paula? They need to save her or else their show is going to be in trouble, Simon, please do what you can to keep her.

Posting comments on this web site is not going to help. We need to be sending messages to the Fox exs. about their stupid decision. This will more than likely be the last season anyway as Simons contract is up after this year and he wants out. To keep Kara as a judge is a joke half the time she is trying to be a female Simon and comes across as an idoit. Also the song she wrote for the winner last year sucked. Last season was boring and so they will not have to worry about my family watching this year. Thanks for freeing up our Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Paula to me was the fun part of the show. Even if she didn't like a contestant she would tell with a little class. Her bantering with Simon made the show great also. Dancing to a lot to the music showed she enjoyed her job and I'm sure eased some of the contestants nerves. I would love to see her come back.

Oh Paula take the money offered and come back please?
Do it for your fans. The money is so way more than any of us will ever see but we have things in our lives that make us happy without it. Family etc. but for fun it was YOU teasing Simone that made that show. Made it! I can't watch it without you. The horrible singing we have to listen to was only worth it because of you at the judges table. We are you fans If you love us really then come back? Please?

Oh B**ch please! The Majority of people want Kara to go and Paula to stay. The give and take between Simon and Paula is why a lot of people watch, not for a bunch of no talent singers. I for one will not watch AI wighout Paula and I know a lot of other people will stop watching too. Simon and Ryan should give up a part of their salary to keep Paula and their job security. Or better yet, get rid of Kara and give her salary to Paula! NOBODY WANTS KARA!!!!!!!!!!!!
