Cameron Douglas Faces Hard Time Following Meth Bust

The son of 'Traffic' star Michael Douglas could spend the rest of his life in prison for selling and transporting methamphetamine over a three-year period, court records show.

Cameron Douglas, 30, was arrested during a DEA drug bust on July 28 and is accused of FedEx-ing the drug also known as "crystal meth" and "Ice" from California to New York between 2006 and 2009. He faces a minimum 10-year sentence and a maximum of life.

He worked with accomplices who are now cooperating with authorities, the complaint obtained by Reuters and AP said.

In several different recorded phone calls Douglas referred to the drugs as "pastry" and "salts."

The next court date has not been announced.

This isn't his first brush with the law. He also was arrested in California in 2007 on cocaine possession charges. His attorney then said the arresting officer didn't do his job properly.

Douglas has acted in movies including 2003's 'It Runs in the Family,' starring his father and grandfather, Kirk Douglas, but his Hollywood career has sputtered since then.

According to his IMDB page, Douglas' next project was supposed to be 'The Beautiful Outsiders,' a film in pre-production also starring Corey Feldman and Shannen Doherty. He has reportedly been fired from the film.

Michael Douglas has not commented on the arrest.

Maybe, maybe not. Those are some mighty big shoes to walk in! I can think of dozens of family members of celeb's that haven't made it - despite the money and vast connections. Talent is talent. The box office doe-rae-me is the meter. Maybe his calling is to be a counselor to others when he finishes his "legal" punishment. Sad, but put Cameron on a suicide watch and pray his is strong enough to survive his true punishers...the public.

I can remember when Michael D. presented a wide brushed negative critique of Angelina Jollie about her past,(though he didn't mention specific names or events), apparently snubing Brad Pitt while at the same time patronizing Jeniffer Aniston. Looks like the chickens came home to roost. Well, everyone needs a chance to move on and grow Michael.

Hum. I can think of several instances that the opposite is true...just because they were public figures or family had well-known stars in it. Judges are sometimes MUCH harder on them than average people -- SETS an example to the rest of us whether it's fair or not. Pray you're never so lucky to be famous/part of a famous family. You'll never set foot in a WalMart again undisguised.

Michael Douglas is a jerk ! He's messed up a few ives along his path too...look at his son !

And if he were anyone else's son, not a celeb., you'd CARE LESS and walk over/by him on your local street corner. Instead of bashing him, HELP him and his family. Money doesn't buy everything. Living in several icons shadows has and will only make it that much harder for him (as it does many others). Do you volunteer somewhere that helps people - or have you ever tried to be a movie star? We all make mistakes, some of us make ones bigger than others. God will be his judge, the publics' eternal crucification will be his true punishment, jail is just time.

He's done. It shouldn't and really wont matter who his dad his.Fed-EXing meth over a three year span is gonna be the nail in the coffin.All comes down to rotten parents..michael was too busy nailing his grandaughter aged wife while the ex-wife was too busy spending her alimony money and nailing the poolboy.Hope that kid finds religion and prays for his own ass while he's doing life in prison.

I feel for the guy. I bet he wishes he could turn back time. He's a nice looking kid which will not work in his favor in prison. His dad and grandfather must be freaking out also. He had everything. Why didn't he just go to college or something. Wow. So many people trying to get into Hollywood and this guy is trying hard to get out. If I were him I would do what ever it took to make the court see I was trying. He should admit himself into a rehab place immediately. Do volunteer work with youngsters. Everything and anything I could. I'll pray for you.

Over indulgent Lime lighters , Whom are having difficulty realizing; No ONE gives a good god damned rats ass, if your alive!.
Shoot him , do what happened to the new york mob Bosses in Italy, let him suffer the same fate , Have the state ! { sentencing} over indulge him in his devices!. ERGO: kill him / with an over dose- [ a death ] sentence, as they have offered!. Make room for the living!.

Everyone has Choices... Cameron Douglas, chose the drug distribution route. He must pay, like any other drug dealer, should pay... He sold death. Isn't Meth really a terrible drug? Kinda of like Crack? Anyway, his choice... Too bad considering, he surely didn't need the money... I guess, it was the challenge or some stupid point...

I hope that they lock him up and throw away the key. We may never know how many kids may have died because of his crimes. I don't feel sorry for him at all. Don't blame his family for this mess, he is not a kid anymore, but a grown-ass man. He knows what he did, and he needs to pay the price for it.

I remeber that movie, I loved seeing 3 generations of handsome debonair men in one show! It was so sweet! Well that's the end of that! Mike must be so humiliated and angry! How would anyone feel if their son did what his has done?? Just awful, This kid is going to go down hard!Money & fame only go just so far! And , who knows his Dad may just kick his butt to the wolves! NO one could blame him, if he did! This idiot is a bonafide criminal, with no one to blame for his actions, but himself!!
