ABC Wants Paula For 'Dancing'

Even though Paula Abdul won't be returning to 'American Idol,' ABC executives would love to secure her as a judge for the next season of 'Dancing With The Stars,' PEOPLE reports.

"I think she's a huge talent," ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson said. "There's a sensitivity and an empathy that balances out 'Idol,' and we'd love to get a piece of that."

While no official confirmation has been made, ABC wants Abdul to grace the judges' table with current 'Dancing' judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. "I was a little stunned by the decision, and we would love to have her," McPherson said.

If she has the ballroom knowledge, I think she would be great! I respect her for sticking to her principles and not caving in on the American Idol contract negotiations.

First of all, just because she was a dancer does not qualify her to judge Ballroom. Second of all, she's too controversial and quite frankly the public is sick of her. We need a break from good old Paula, fresh faces on occasion. TV execs may want "a piece of that" but let them do it in their office and stop forcing it on the public. Leave Dancing alone, it's great just the way it is. If they need to replace someone, then find a really fun Ballroom judge to fill the gap, please.

Kara is so out of place and boring! She'll never be a good replacement for Paula. I think Paula should have her own show period. She's an Awesome talent and should not sell herself short by going to DWTS!

Just another rumor. She is not qualified to judge ballroom dancing. More than likely I would say we might see her making a fool of herself trying to dance ballroom next coming season. It all depends how much attention she is looking for.

These reality shows are anything but reality. They are all scripted and lines delivered by people that can't act their way out of a paper sack!

We will see Paula's name associated with several other TV Programs this fall as she is still under contract with 19 Entertainment, until the very last day of that contract. Name association is just another cheap way to Free Marketing.
Just think..how much money would she earn trying to dance with a bad back.
Paula is a professional judge and that is where she earns her best monies. Enjoy the rest of your summer, fall and winter until Paula makes her decision. But don't hold your breath waiting.

Oh god no. All that experience is useless if you don't know how to give coherent, productive, constructive criticism. I've seen her in the audience of this show & others & u'd think she'd learn how to do that seeing other ppl do it the right way but she continued to spew useless, nonsense that doesn't help the contestant improve. And god help her if she keeps the other judges from doing it. Its mainly because of her that i don't watch Idol. Keep her away from my shows!!!

Embarassment to professional, educated and sophisticated women! Paula did try to get a contract with SYTYCD, I believe that is why she was leaving last season from AI, and they did get Kara, and when SYTYCD didn't offer her a contract, as she did have to audition, show her qualification, and did choreograph a number on that show that was utterly inept for the numerous newer choreographers whom did outshine themselves in working with the amatuer contestants, Paula, couldn't produce or outshine them, her number is truly forgettable, as was the one on AI, also her song and dance routine on AI. She did lose the chance to judge SYTYCD! Her incoherent and immature critiques and behavior on AI brought her chances down to be given the amount she wanted, she's certainly not worth millions. Yes, she started as a judge on the show, and was lucky enough to be able to keep the job this long, as I am sure, many intelligent young people, and women are totally disgusted by Paula's disturbing remarks and behaviors.
She's now grasping at straws and wanting the attention and notariety as a judge, why not go onto DWTS. Paula doesn't have what it takes to deliver constructive criticism on this sophisticated and truly competitive show!
What a let down to bring her on DWTS. Enough with Paula Abdul. Her greed and need for attention and money is her downfall, as is her disturbing oozing over the young male contestants.

Please NO MORE PAULA ABDUL...let her work behind the scenes selling her jewelry on QVC/HSN...The youth of today do need to emulate, honest, coherent and intelligent people, not those with disturbing, immature behaviors and incoherent critiques. Intelligence not ignorance, please, NO MORE!!!! AI,SYTYCD & DWTS, need to stand their ground and keep the honest, coherent and intelligent talents on their shows, and let Paula Abdul realize, she cut the hand that was feeding her, and giving her the respect to keep her this long on AI, now her greed and need for attention was her downfall, not to say her incoherent critques, scandals and immature, disturbing oozing over the young male contestants! PLEASE, NO MORE!!!

I think Paula would be better on SO You Think You Can Dance. The panel on Dancing with the Stars is great, don't mess up a good thing. Th panel on SYTYCD can use a little help. Maybe put Paula in Mary's place...for a little while anyway, until we can all "hear" again!
