Nancy Grace Shows Her Softer Side

In a profile story in 'USA Today,' legal pundit Nancy Grace shares a glimpse into her schedule of being a full-time mom with a full-time career.

On her HLN legal analysis show, 'Nancy Grace,' she is cutthroat and forceful, a hard-hitting former prosecutor with a notoriously aggressive reputation. But, motherhood seems to have softened Grace. She hasn't spent time apart from her 21-month old son and daughter, even taking them to vacation with her recently in Florida.

Balancing a hectic career with motherhood could prove difficult for some. But Grace, 49, credits her forceful attitude to her small town upbringing.

"I grew up on a red dirt road with a tree growing right in the middle of it," she said. "We didn't have much, but it never occurred to me that if you wanted to do something you couldn't do it. You can do anything if you try."

During the interview, Grace showed her children to the USA Today reporter, and nearly cried upon first entering the room to see them. At another point, the reporter says Grace was "smothering them with kisses."

With her soft side out, a good portion of the interview turns to more serious things, including how Grace's passion for law and justice stems from the murder of her fiance Keith Griffin in 1979.

Even 30 years later, Grace gets emotional when dealing with Griffin's murder. During her interview, she began crying when she found a box of letters he had written in her closet. "These were Keith's," she said, choking back tears.

Some criticize Grace for victimizing herself because of her past, but the memories only seem to fuel her fire. In fact, Grace's next venture, a thriller novel, features a plot line not unlike her own story. The book, 'The Eleventh Victim,' goes on sale Tuesday.

I think Nancy Grace is a phony. During the Casey Anthony "top news" period, she had her tried, convicted and sentenced. Regardless of my opinion of Anthony, I thought a person was innocent until proven guilty. What bothered me most, was the way she demeaned her guests. She always cut them off if she didn't agree with them. The only one's I thought stood up to her crap were L. Padilla, and atty. M LeJame. They put her in her place. After that, I couldn't stand to watch her anymore.

No, She is not a phony! I tried, and convicted casey also. When it comes to children, and also the evidence against her already prooves she did it. She murdered her child so she could party. I love Nancy Grace, because she doesn't have to sugarcoat everything.

There is something ominous about Nancy. Invisible horns. I find her bitter and rude. People seem to love when others are disrespectful and evil. Nancy always ends her show using God's name. I find it distasteful to God and making a mockery of Him. I love God and He would not treat people or approve of her tactics.

Satan is busy and uses people like Nancy to fool others. I truly feel for her kids because they will suffer. They will hurt her in the end. They will not be able to deal with her distasteful mannerism. It's not cute! Shame on her!

Nancy is not a phony, Dramaqueen member? But drama is what sells. Besides SEX. So give her a break. Anyone who has passion for kids, and for the innocent, I'm on their side. Even tho I disagree, with how she advertized the Michael Jackson Saga, I still will watch her show, and LOVE and respect her opinion. SO BACK OFF NANCY !!!!!!!!!!

If your smart, you can read between the lines. There is enough evidence to put C.A. away. I love Nancy. She's no phony. L. Padilla is a fruit cake wannabe cowboy/detective from CA. My Mom's friend is his neighbor and says LP is the joke of the neighborhood. LP is the one who accuses C.A. more than anyone. Maybe you should watch the show and you would see that. The people on the show who get cut off are uaually crappy lawers. If I ever needed anyone on my side, it would be Nancy over the crappy lawyers. Guess you would choose them. Good Luck

Bobbyjoe,I think you are a total idiot, if you think for a minute that that woman is innocent. Nancy Grace is a very good anchor person. She is a very good judge of character. You will see in the end that she is right always. That Anthony girl is guilty and the whole world agrees. You must be the one that has been sending her money so she can have her snacks and goodies while in jail. She will run you broke because she will spend the rest of her life in jail to rot. Maybe they will just put her out of her misery alltogether!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Nancy is unbelievable and perhaps a phony. She is in the same class with Star Jones- cutting people off "only because it is her own show" and usually getting angry and emotional out of context. If either of these two were in a true debate with a moderator....they would be destroyed.

Career/children. Are you kidding me? "She even took her kids with her on vacation in Florida". Oh sure...she is truly amazing! What a wonderful mother you must be to....with a hectic career and all. Millions of mothers find themselves required to be mothers while having a career. Not yet ready to recommend her for mom of the year.

Stop being so emotionally silly! I won't watch her show unless someone is sitting in for her.

Nancy Grace is the rudest, sorriest excuse for a human being I've ever seen. She treats people so disrespectfully...there's just no room for that behavior on national t.v. I guess women with superiority complexes enjoy watching her power trips, but it disgusts me. Then to watch her systematically change her voice like she's a sweet angel when taking a moment to remember somebody that's passed away is a joke - very bad acting! Get rid of her.

I would love to see "DR. BETHANY" psychoanalyze Nancy on air! Is Dr. B blind or are Nancy's guests masochists basking in the light of on air glory. I cannot understand why so many famous and highly educated people sacrifice their integrity for a Nancy lambasting. It is sick.

I believe she is sincere with this pain that is on her shoulders. I am tired of people judging her for who she is. She has been in this profession for many years. She was a prosecutor and its in her nature to be aggressive. If this was a different situation with a child molestor and killer. She would put his ass on trial too. She mad a mistake no one is perfect. People are behind bars serving time because of a damn good prosecutor like her. You have no right to judge her. Her attitude and aggression has made her number 1 on cnn. The mother that committed suicide may have held back the truth or even secerts. Nancy probably hit it where it hurts. The mother should have fought back. but like they say the truth can hunt you. Now we will never know.

It's her show, if someone doesn't agree with her then they shouldnt appear in her show
