Which Show Will It Be? Paula Abdul's Next Move
By PopEater Staff Posted Aug 10th 2009 05:42PM
Even though Paula Abdul won't be returning to 'American Idol,' ABC executives are apparently scouting her as a judge for the next season of 'Dancing With The Stars.' Paula Abdul and her occasionally nonsensical comments belong on reality TV. As far as we're concerned, 'Dancing With The Stars' shouldn't be her only option. Paula's sweet nothings would enliven just about any show with judges - and we can imagine what she'd say on each of them, past and present.

'America's Next Top Model': "Although it's a level of difficulty, you made it look effortless with ease, and you came through and looked beautiful. You really set aside the issues you were dealing with, acted like a professional and got the job done. Good for you, honey."

'The Apprentice': "You're such a leader, a born leader. Your aggressive nature and blunt honesty is inspirational, you're a really strong person. You've got a spicy side of you. But can I be honest with you? I think you come on a little too strong."

'Top Chef': "Week after week, I taste these amazing creations, and I'm always blown away by what you come up with. It's incredible. You showed a beautiful vulnerability, but I think this week, you didn't focus on presentation as much as you needed to, and it got away from you a bit."

'I Know My Kid's a Star': "Listen, your daughter's got a lot of talent. A lot of real, raw talent. She's a bright light in this competition. I know how much you love her and I know you want what's best for her, but maybe that song was just a little too mature for her."

'Dancing With the Stars': "I have to say, I think that was the best performance of the night. I don't know how anyone else can top that chemistry, you guys just light up the stage. Great job."

'Project Runway': "You know, when I first saw this design, I didn't really like it. But when the model stepped onto the end of the runway and turned around, I really felt what you were trying to communicate. Great job."

'So You Think You Can Dance': *Paula just cries*
'Shear Genius:' "I love what you did with her color. It's really sparkling, and it just lights up her whole face. You have such an attention to detail, and I think that really showed tonight. I love love love your interpretation of hair."
'Stylista': "Your personal style is really something. I think you have a great grasp on balancing professional and chic while still bringing out your true spirit. I feel like I can really understand who you are from those peep toe heels and layered necklaces, in every way."
'Last Comic Standing': "From the moment you got on stage, I could see your heart was in it. I could really tell how happy you were to be on stage in front of people. But, something was missing. The connection with the audience was missing."

It seemed that the world wanted Paula to go because of her bad manners and rudeness in always interrupting Simon or never knowing when to shut up. Judges are supposed to give their opinion and keep quiet, respecting the other judges while they do the same, no matter what they feel about his/her opinion; however, Paula has never been taught any manners so she obviously didn't know that. She also stuttered and stammered like she was on drugs or booze and forgot to sober up before coming to work. Then they brought some dimbo named Kara who is as boring as a monkey's armpit, who brought absolutely nothing to the table and now it seems everyone, including me, wants Paula back. At least she gave us something to talk about at work the next day.. Ratings will drop with this new girl because she is boring. She tried to act like Paula and interrupt Simon and disagree with him occasionally but it didn't work for her. She will never be able to immitate Paula I take my bathroom or refreshment breaks when she is on.

Paula will really be missed. All three of them make the show. I don't think the show will be the same without her, Like many shows before it will be all down hill when they start leaving the show. And the new girl I don't like at all. I love watching Idol I watch it every year. Not sure if I will this year.

I totally agree with you. Why they ever added Kara as a judge is beyond my comprehension. She is not a "people person" and has added NOTHING to the show. It won't be the same w/o Paula. Her antics added humor to the show. I believe her departure will cause the ratings, which have already declined, to go down down down!!!
It doesn't matter where Paula goes, or what she does, she will do good. She is so deserving of a squeeze.

She didn't so much walk away, she was moreless pushed away. And that's a shame. Will no longer watch.

Paula Abdul has already lined up replacing Billy Mays in those goofy products commercials.

Am I the only one who watches the show for the performers? It became too much about the judges.

Who cares what Paula's next move is? She gets a couple of hit records in the 80's, and she becomes an authority on music? This is a falacy known as "Ad Verecundium" inappropriate use of authority. I personally never cared much for her music, but at least it could be classified as music, unlike Rap or Hip Hop, which requires no musical abilities. Rap and Hip Hop fall into the category of loud noise. You need not spend years studying music, practicing on an musical instrument, or learning how to sing. None of these are used in Rap and Hip Hop. All you need is a couple of outdated turntables, 5 million watt amps, a few speakers, and plenty of microphones. These are considered the instruments. Next, you need a few men or women who are loud, obnoxious, and have a 3rd grade education. This is part of the get rich quick, or get rich without obtaining a formal education, better known as the easy way out. Rap and Hip Hop have been popular now for over 25 years, why? Because this younger generation want things handed to them. They don't want to work hard studying, they want to make money by doing what comes natural to them, using profanity, bad english grammar, making up words, talking, (not singing), with an attitude, being disrespectful, and most of all being obnoxious,

Paula has enough money .She needs to go into a hospital that deals with her mental stability. Find the answer to her problems ,and begin a life.

LOL , Maybe Paula can do those Sally Struthers commercials for starving kids in Costa Rica & blow up to 300 lbs .

Lets not loose sight of what it is. It is entertainment. Ultimately, they week out the crap and select a talented individual, but the bottom line is entertainment and money-making. They do both very well. It is a business, run like a business, by business people. Keep calling your votes in. They need the money and don't actually count the votes.

Please just go away already! If she goes on DWTS I for one will NOT watch!! I can just see Carrie Ann and her going at it. She's not going to change. God, she can't even complete a sentence. She shakes all over too. Think she has some kind of disease... She needs rehab... BAD!

SYTYCD, the position she did want, didn't want her. After last season, she did choreograph a routine on that show that was totally forgettable, as it was on AI, also her song and dance routine!
DWTS, is a much more sophisticated and competitive dance show, not something that Paula Abdul can be direct and honest with her critiques, as she doesn't have the knowledge of Ballroom Dancing.
Paula is a pathetic excuse for an alleged professional woman. Her critiques, incoherent remarks and oozing over the young male contestants, not only is disturbing, but disgusting. Enough of her immature and ignorant, unintelligent rantings. Paula should've taken whatever AI was giving her, as she was introduced to the show as a judge and because she did begin on the show, and most likely, Simon did speak up on her behalf and may be the reason she was kept on the show, otherwise, I can't honestly see how she had the job this long, she's immature, incoherent, unintelligent and disturbing in her oozing of the young male contestants!! Let her stay behind the scenes, selling her jewelry on QVC/HSN. We need to hear much more sophisticated, intelligent role models on television for the youth of today to emulate. Paula's not it! Please, NO MORE PAULA ABDUL, let her seek out her singing career, if she has true fans, they will support her by buying her inept sounds. She does need to grow up and act her age.
