Jeremy Piven Drops Mango-Bomb on Chris Kattan

Note to wisecracking actors booked on the same talk show as Jeremy Piven: don't mention that whole mercury poisoning thing. Someone failed to mention that to ex-'SNL' star Chris Kattan, who got a dose of that Ari Gold rage behind the scenes at MTV's daytime talker 'It's On With Alexa Chung' on Thursday.

According to the NY Daily News, the pair got into a shouting match when Kattan, at MTV to promote the IFC series 'Bollywood Hero,' sniped to Piven, "So, what are you here to promote, your Broadway play?" It was in reference to the 'Entourage' star's infamous exit from the show 'Speed the Plow' in December, citing mercury poisoning.

Piven whipped back with a doozy meant to insult Kattan's most known character on 'SNL': "Well, what are you here to promote? Mango?"

The actors continued barking at each other for a few minutes, but all the while, Kattan believed they were just two guys having a laugh.

"After some back and forth, Jeremy said something really personal to Chris that basically attacked his career," said one witness to fracas. "He said 'Whoa, man -- I thought we were just fooling around here.'"

To which Piven responded: "I'm getting sued for that s--t!" .... "It's not funny"

It was at this point that Piven allegedly slammed the door in Kattan's face.

Piven's rep: "Jeremy and Chris did see each other at MTV and they were joking around backstage before a talk show appearance, as many actors do. If it was interpreted as a fight, someone wasn't paying attention."

Kattan's rep: "Chris mistakenly asked Jeremy if he was there to promote his play and Piven fired back with 'What are you here to promote, Mango?' Chris tried to apologize."

i can't stand jeremy piven. i dont think he can stand himself! i remember last year he got into a fight with stephen dorff too. he must have a very low self-esteem to be picking on these other actors. i love both stephen dorff and chris kattan. if you havent seen that movie Felon, i highly recommend it. anyway, give it 2 or 3 more years and we wont even remember who jeremy piven is.

If these dumb ass "STARS" want to complain about long hours of work, Let them spend a week with the real people. Let them work fourteen to sixteen hours a day for minimum wage and go through what the REAL people go through everyday! Then go home and cook their own meals, clean their own houses and try to make their budgets fit the bills they have!

Chris, almost all "Real people" don't work 14-16 hours. The typical "real person" clocks in for an 8 hour shift of which 2 hours is socializing and 6 hours is actual work.

i do believe he's more talented. i believe piven is the "one trick pony" seeing as how no matter what role he plays, he's always the same type of guy. it doesnt even matter who's better, with piven flipping out twice now, calling other actors names like he does, it shows his true colors. starts with an a and ends with hole...

Jeremy Piven has gotten a little to big for his britches. being on a hit show does not give you permission to be a world class jerk. It should speak volumes that his long time friend John Cusack stopped having anything to do with him due to his attitude.
