Mel Gibson's Girlfriend Talks Marriage

Oksana Grigorieva first made headlines when she and Mel Gibson went public with their relationship in April -- just weeks after Gibson announced he was divorcing his wife of nearly 30 years. Even so, Grigorieva is happy with her relationship, her career and her pregnancy, she tells CNN.

"You don't control the situations or the people you meet. I did not plan this... I've become very lucky, and I'm very grateful,"she said.

The Russian-born singer said she faced tabloid backlash after announcing she was expecting her first child with Gibson but she's not letting it affect her. "It hasn't been too bad. There was a period of time where it was a little bit difficult, but now it's much better," she said.

Grigorieva said the two had a professional rapport before becoming romantically attached. "It's not like I was planning to meet Mel specifically. Life happens. There was a working relationship for a long time. I thought he was happily married until I was reassured otherwise. And then it happened," she said.

And even though there's a baby on board, don't expect the Gibson and Grigorieva to tie the knot anytime soon."We don't know yet. We haven't really talked about it," she admitted.

In the meantime, she's focusing on her music career. Her latest album 'Beautiful Heartache' was released on July 23 and distributed by Gibson's label.

"He's an incredible artist. A visionary. He enabled me to produce this album, for my music to live," Grigorieva said "If you think about it, every talent needs a serious push and help from somebody who is stronger, because it's pretty much impossible for anybody to succeed in this industry... I did not plan this. I'm just doing what I've always been doing. It's not like I've changed my goals."

Before meeting Gibson, she modeled in the United States and United Kingdom while balancing her duties as a mom. (She has another child, 12-year-old Alexander, with actor Timothy Dalton.) Her first break as a songwriter came in 2006 when her song 'Un Dia Llegara' became a hit for Josh Groban on his album 'Awake.' That recording led to contract offers from various companies, including Gibson's Icon Entertainment.

Same with me Cathy. Never mine if the girl does not have a child before so, it means that she destroy people life. Having children and also she will still have another child with another man. If you know that the man is married control yourself , she has experience with man why destroy other peoples marriage. he will also do itwhen she finds another man. Mel belongs to a sect of Catholicism that holds the views of an small excommunicated segment of the Church that denies anything from Vatican 2. Notice excommunicated, no longer part of the Roman Catholic Church. That being said every person is in need of Gods mercy, including Mel, he only proved he is weak and fallible like the rest of us. I dont condone his actions but neither can I call him a hypocrit, he is only a man in need of mercy

Folks, don't fall for this B.S! Team Mel is trying to do damage control and turn this sleazy golddigger into a human being! Oksana has a long history of using men to get what she wants - one ex called her an "opportunist." "I did not plan this" couldn't be further from the truth. Why did she become pregnant? If they were truly in love wouldn't he have gotten a divorce so they could be together, instead of forcing his wife into filing when she found out about the baby? Quite the contrary...Mel kept denying any romantic involvement until Oksana got knocked up. And do an online search...there's no evidence of a music career until Mel bankrolled the CD and video.

Please. It takes more than one. She would not have been able to commit adultery without a willing partner, and neither would he. They both are guilty. And being Catholic, Mel surely does know better. There is no such thing as "it just happened." That's complete BS.

These two chose to sin. They did it publically, and expect us to fall all over ourselves giving them our approval because they are "in love." This isn't love. This is lust. They both need to repent and break off the relationship.

You are right. These things don't just happen. Both calculated what went on. He has eye candy and she has a funding department. He is a talented artist but neither of these two have good moral fiber. I would never again pay to see any movie or production he has anything to do with.
