Sleek Charlize Lets 'Er Rip in Vogue

Charlize Theron is a real Hollywood broad. Her 'Monster' director says she "drinks like a fish and swears like a sailor," and anyone who knows the gorgeous star is aware of her penchant for frank, blunt talk on just about any subject.

Vogue tapped the Oscar winner for the cover of their September issue and although the photos show her in a hot, dry setting, her conversation is anything but. Nudity, rumors about sexuality, her big mouth -- it's all on the table. Highlights after the jump.

On Nude Scenes: "That isn't about me. I don't look at the movie and go, 'Jesus, my ass is really saggy'."

On Old Rumors She's Gay: "I cut my hair really short in my 20s, and people were like, 'Hmm, wait a second. Is she gay?'"

On Why She and Stuart Townsend Aren't Married: "We've been together for almost nine years, so by now we've kind of realized that we're going to take this journey together."

On Her Tendency to Speak Freely: "People tell me that cocaine makes you feel superhuman and you'll say anything. Then when you come down like all of a sudden you have guilt," she says. "But I have that feeling innately, even without the cocaine."

On Director Patty Jenkins Wanting Her for 'Monster': "She really turned me upside down. I was like, 'Whoa, this woman's crazy.' But there was nothing I could do, because, trust me, I tried to talk her out of it."

On How She Feels About Playing Strong Women: "I can't tell you about that ... but I know how I feel about facing my own weaknesses, and playing into my weaknesses and finding that within my characters." By this point, she's sitting on the edge of her couch cushion, as if someone is about to call "Action" right this second. "My weaknesses are way more interesting to me than my strengths."

Yes, what DOES this have to do with politics? And because her hair is short means she is gay? I have short hair, I am happily married with a son and one on the way and have NO desire to be with a woman. Such trash. Really. Charlize is one of the most beautiful women in hollywood and I commend her honesty and bluntnes. She doesn't kiss butt and she still gets good rolls

Wher did U get your education.....this country was not founded on Christianity BUT religious freedom.....I repeat.....religious freedom. Our founding fathers were well-educated and well-read.....something that is being lost in this country. Trust me if they wanted the Constitution to say "Christianity" only that is what they could have done.

Theron is amazing hen she is gorgeous, brutally ugly inside and out, frank or not! My comment here relates to the onslaught of messages and ads that people are putting out there for us to see regarding dating sights, all sorts of dating sights which turn up on messgae boards from this one to one about Cheney, Obama, Erectile Dysfunction, child abuse, etc. Dating ads for dating sights. WTF? I am not interested in this and I doubt that anyone else is either. Why are these sights letting these 'for profit' services use thier space for free advertisements? They are annying, take up room and are a waste, pure and simple. Stop this now and if you do not, I hope the sites do it for you. Man they must think we are all so hard up, lonely, miserbale, horny, desperate. Not a pleasant image, in my mind. Quit it.

I think you better check your history. The "pilgrims" were not seeking religious freedom from the Catholic Church as the Catholic Church had already been broken in England by Henry VIII (he of the many wives remember?) - and the only religious freedom they were in search of was the freedom to be more strident and intolerant in their beliefs as the government of the day kept them in check - it was here that they restarted the witch trials and burnings.

People came to escape religious persecution in all countries, not just Catholic ones. England under Elizabeth was just as bad; so were Norway and Germany. Go look it up.

Actually, Elizabeth I of England was more tolerant of Catholics under an Anglican ruler. Yes, they were oppressed but usually by individuals in town and had to keep their beliefs and masses in secret. (sort of like African Americans during Jim Crow laws). The only time she had Catholic people put to death was when she had direct proof that they were trying to over throw the government (like Mary, Queen of Scots). And unless they were a direct threat to her RIGHT THEN and her body guards killed them they always got a trial for treason. She was often quoted as saying "There is only one God, all the rest is triffels".

I'm just curious;
The text says she and Townsend are NOT married, yet every caption in the photo spread calls him are husband.

And I am very curious where the criticism of her politics comes from. She doesn't say a word about her politics, just her beliefs. So I guess the only actors allowed a political opinion are right wingers? Cause it sure sounds that way.
