Why She's About to Pop: Priscilla Renea had a nomadic childhood as a child of the Navy. She was enrolled in twenty schools before planting roots in Vero Beach, FL, during which she cultivated her writing talent in lieu of lasting friendships. Her transient lifestyle became fodder for her poetry, prose and songs, the latter of which she did because there "wasn't anything on the radio that I wanted to hear," she explains. Renea performed for her family members regularly, but when she discovered YouTube, the world got a glimpse of the songbird's gift. In 2007, she appeared on MTV's 'Say What? Karaoke' show, which elevated her YouTube numbers over the 2 million mark. She released a 3-song EP of her internet hits, including 'Hello My Apple,' and has since been featured in a Baby Phat ad campaign and graced the pages of Giant magazine for her unique fashion sense. On October 20 Renea will release her debut album, 'Jukebox,' on Capitol Records and her first single from it, 'Dollhouse,' is available on August 17.
