Pot Turns Brad Pitt Into A "Doughnut"
Pitt also chatted about his pro-gay marriage and anti-religion agendas. When Maher asked him what he didn't like about religion, Pitt explained, "I grew up in a religious family, in a religious community, and it just doesn't make sense to me. It just doesn't work for me in the long run," Pitt said.
"I never wanted to step on anyone else's religion and their beliefs -- that's what's great about our country -- until I started seeing it defining policy... Like gay marriage, you have a group of people telling other people how to live their lives, and you can't do that."
"You really have to check what country you're living in because the freedom that allows you to practice religion is the same freedom you're stepping on. That's not right. And I want to add that if there was a nation of gay married couples who were telling you you couldn't practice your religion, I'd be speaking up for you too. So, let's stop the nonsense," Pitt added.

Of course religion doesn't work for this man. It doesn't allow for being gay, adultry, drinking to be drunk, promoting living with a squeeze, and being an all around terrible example that causes problems to kids all around the world. Of course he's generous to a fault. His housing project in New Orleans was neat, but I never read it was donated of free to the homeless leads me to assume money was made off it. After aLL $500,000.00 TO CHARITY IS A TAX WRITE OFF FOR ONE WHO MAKES $10,000,000.00 A MOVIE.
Now for those of you who defend him, your right one should be more concerned about your worship of money and fame rather than morals. Every society that fails is always in pursuit of the exact same perversions our society is chasing, promoted by the lack of a working moral compass. Those who go to church and are amening oposition to the gay life style need to relize support of Brad is support of opposition to religion and morals, but he has a right to his opinion as you do, but both you and him know where the final answer will be at.

So angry and full of hate--in the name of religion?
Thank you very much Megahot! Nail on the head.
To megahot1,
you really need counseling for your anger toward others that do not agree with you!
It really sounds like your parents taught you to hate people different than you.
I did not choose to be gay. That was left to god. If you don't believe that when did you decide to be straight. If you are!!!!
Actually, I didn't hear anything angry or hateful in this poster's tone. Not sure why disagreement with a lifestyle is hate. Wishing some was dead....or wanting something bad to happen to them...THAT'S hate. Disagreement isn't hate. So all of you responding....don't try to read something into it that isn't there. This whole "hate" thing has become the "politically incorrect" phrase of the 2000's
Religion was created by man to control man -- not God. I believe in a Supreme creator, but I don't believe that God has all the rules that the Bible thumpers want to impose on everyone because, like I said, God did not create the Bible (only life). I say "live and let live." So he left Jennifer. I don't agree with how he did it, but sometimes things just can't be helped. He fell in love with someone else. Would it have been better if he'd spent a loveless life with her? His life was about celebrity when he was with her. It was empty. Angie was a great influence on him. He has since gone off to use his status, money and time to help the less fortunate. It's not motivated by the deduction (they don't get deduction for the countless hours they invest and there's a cap on how much you can write off). He is motivated by their desire to help. What have your church and you done that wasn't motivated by your desire to recruit people to your religion? Do you ever do good works without leading with your religion? Are you constantly judging others? If you are, then you are out of alignment with what your Bible says.
God will be giving people like you friend the most forgiviness. because he knows you judge people. and you need it the most. i dont think god will think brad pitt is a bad person for not judging people.
religion has become immoral
For those of us who believe Christ is the way... don't worry about it...
In the end he will have to stand for his life alone and when God ask's him what did with the life he was given he can explain it in all details, and none of it will be UNEXAMINED...... the very same way we will be. It is not a job of a Christian's to Demand another become a Christian or to live like we do, we are SINNERS, unperfect, we can only say follow the word of Jesus not us, We just need to live in such a way that we become a beacon of light so when asked what's your secret ? You can simply explain, it is He who died for my sins not me you seek and to offer them your love and fellowship.... God call's each of us to a purpose on earth, may we all stop long enough to hear his whisper....
Another pinhead who has all kinds of biased opinions but can't even bother to learn to spell. Ever hear of freedom of speech. If you want to be a religious zombie then go ahead just as it is ok to think for yourself. Don't qualify other peoples' opinions with garbage like if you support Brad you are against morals. What a load of nonsense. How about live and let live?
yes Pitt is an idiot and one that is not ageing well at all I have heard a lot of people make this comment lately.. so he is no god and is probably a few Kangaroos short in the top paddock he must be to have left a lovely women like his ex for a skin and bone ex druggy who is looking so drab and sqrawny and tired and he is still jealous of her dresses out doing his fame.. oh please....
I usually do not reply to these chats but have to ask - If you are true Christians aren't you suppose to love your fellow Humans and let the judging be done by GOD?
You do realize, that with so much hate in your heart, the God you pray to is the devil. Take a good look at yourself lady. I bet when you pass from this earth you're not going to be happy. You've only yourself to blame. "put a little love in your heart"
WOW...someone is mad!!! Im sorry we all can't be a perfect christian angel like yourself, but I think you should be worried about your own morals. Why does one have to go to church for god to hear him or her? I'm a paramedic, I will save anyone's life (and yes, even yours), but I don't go to church or believe in jesus, does that make me a bad person. I believe in God/Supreme creator and that God can hear me anywhere I decide to speak to him.

RELAX ITS JUST HOLLYWOOD
The very first comment was dead-on: Brad Pitt is an idiot. An attractive, rich, talented, confused idiot.
He describes his upbringing in a religious family and community and yet none of that ever got a foothold beyond adolescent rebellion and dope-induced apathy. The man is a product of our modern academic-political system which insists that any whim or desire, however perverted or unhealthy, is OK.
Just because the guy's wealthy doesn't make him right, how about that Trump guy?
I don't see Brad as evil, just ignorant. The male equivalent of Jessica Simpson. Another example of our bovine society following the herd down the path of least resistance.
Why bother to think or question, The Popular People and talking heads will tell you what's right, right?
As a general rule, whatever political or social initiative a celebrity promotes, I find that going the opposite direction is usually the most sensible approach. When you read what's written above, regarding Pitt's concern(s) about 'Religion' stepping inappropriately into other areas, it would appear that he's being somewhat reasonable. HOWEVER, Pitt falls into the same category as Tom Hanks, and some other celebrities who have recently taken issue with 'Religion' and the 'gay marriage' vote in California; none of them have the courage to vocalize that 'Black Churches'had a huge impact on the vote.....moreso than the "Mormons" they attacked in the days following the election. These churches, live there lives very conservatively, even though they tend to historically vote 'Democrat.' (90% or above) Additionally, the ENTIRE state got to vote on that bill, and the public, evidently, did not want marriage between 2 men and/or 2 women. In other words, why not just admit that the results of the vote did not jibe with YOUR political views and that's what your upset about; 'religion' is just a red herring.
Oh, and if Mr. Pitt really has an issue about others telling others about how to live their lives, than maybe he should start closer to home; perhaps people don't want to hear him talk about living green, etc. Just a suggestion.

You obviously didnt listen to what he said. Never did he try to tell anyone how to live their lives. In fact, he was saying quite the opposite. Now go back, and look at it again ! And by the way, if your not at least trying to live green, you should be ashamed !
Kim,
In spite of your clever use of the word "obviously," I have to tell you that I have, indeed, listened to the attached videos, AND read the above article. First, you're right, Brad Pitt does NOT say the literal words, "You should live...." he does, however, drop phrases like "if we only spent a few million dollars more..." as applied to the levees, "this all could have been avoided." This comes from Brad Pitt, the "well known structural engineer." Also, you'll notice that most of his time was spent covering the "green" and "sustainable" aspect of his housing project; please tell me how that factor is the key one in drawing more people BACK to the area. If he wants to promote the "green" aspect, so be it; however, this article attributed a quote to him."you have a group of people telling other people how to live their lives, and you can't do that." I realize I may very well be wasting my words on you, but "what's good for the goose is good for the gander." Free speech is for EVERYONE, not just for those we happen to share a common belief or interest. (I'll forward you a link to the 1st ammendment to the Constitution if you wish, Kim.) Additionally, perhaps YOU did not listen to the videos.....Pitt describing people at the town hall meetings as "THAT vitriolic and THAT emotional".... I'd suggest, perhaps that you go back and take a listen. Google search "Prop 8, along with Tom Hanks;" it should bring up enough articles surrounding the criticism of "religious groups" in the days following the November election.
I won't comment too much on whether I should be ashamed or not; I try not to let my mood get too affected by a stranger's commentary. I'll just offer that I'm quite happy with how I live my life and hope that you fall into the same, if not a similar category.
Eric:
There are certain principles that can not be decided by votes
100 years ago, if there was a vote on slavery, southern states would have voted for slavery. Would that made that ok? Slavery is not an option, votes or no votes... so is rights of gays, like you and me images of God, to live as they were created...
JSS,
Don't even know where to begin. First, "100 years ago" was 1909; The American Civil war ended 44 years before that. Secondly, to equate homosexual marriage with slavery is an insult to the memory of those were victims of slavery; this doesn't even deserve further comparison. Lastly, if you don't like the result of a democratic process you certainly have the right to attempt to push to get the Constitution ammended. Direct your energies there.
