Patton Oswalt Talks Baby, Fatherhood

'Big Fan' star Patton Oswalt has a lot on his plate, but he's most proud to call himself a father. He and his wife Michelle welcomed their daughter Alice Rigney Oswalt on April 15, and he has barely slept since then.

Pointing at his tired face, Oswalt admits, "This is from lack of sleep and trying to calm her down. That is what my life is -- calm that baby down and try to get some sleep... But it has been good," he exclusively told PopEater.

As for his wife, Oswalt says she's doing great, and he's lucky to have her around. "She's like a supermom. She's amazing," he said.

Despite lack of sleep, Oswalt credits his daughter's birth with changing his life. Everything from his "career to piety things written online" have taken a backseat. "There use to be stuff I would get so wrapped up in, and now I just don't care about it anymore," he said.

"I have a daughter, and I'm raising a kid. It's like, 'Oh. That stuff doesn't matter.' It just all blows away, which is nice. It has really calmed down my perspective on things," Oswalt added.

So has his daughter shown any signs of becoming a comedian like her dad? "Well, it's still only the first four months, so the baby hasn't formed a personality yet," he said. While he's still enjoying every moment, he's ready for the next phase and taking it one step at a time.

Oswalt is a stand-up comedian, who was the voice of Remy in 2007's animated hit 'Ratatouille' and stars in the upcoming film 'Big Fan' (in theaters August 28), which chronicles the life of a New York Giants super fan.
