Shania Twain Takes on 'Idol'

While 'American Idol' producers search for a replacement for Paula Abdul, PEOPLE has confirmed the latest guest judge. Country singer Shania Twain will sit down with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the Chicago portion of the upcoming 'Idol' auditions.

The Canadian 'That Don't Impress Me Much' singer isn't the first celebrity sub for the next season. Reportedly, Victoria Beckham and Mary J. Blige have already warmed up the guest seat on the judges panel.

If they get rid of Kara, I won't watch the show. Kara is a breath of fresh air after Paula saying nothing but nice things and refusing to criticize.

Remember that Paula is a dancer/coreographer who can sing ok. She doesn't write music or produce CDs.

Shania Twain is great but, I think the guest judges are just too kind and really ride the fence so that they don't hurt any contestants feelings instead of really telling it like it is.

I never watch the show but if Shania Twain is going to be on it, I will watch it only because she is on it. Never heard of the other two quest judges. Shawnia Twain is excellent and can sing like an angel. I won't watch it after her appearance and you can take that to the bank!!!

I agree with MITZI ---- I don't mind guest judges, but they are just like Paula... They are afraid of hurting anybody's feelings.....Judge or guest judge, "Tell it like it is!" That is why Simon IS the best judge out there........Like it or not!!! The only time I don't like Simon, is when they put the girls with body and no voice through --- like bikini ho (I mean girl)....she had no voice, and she was only put through, because she acted like a ho.........Like Britney, and Spice girls........

I think they should offer Shania the gig. She would be great and add a great deal of the viewers that do not watch the show because of no country music interests on the show.

This would be a great addition as a judge and also bring in more country music viewers
