Gwyneth Paltrow An 'Iron Man' Snob?

Although Scarlett Johansson denied having an on-set cat fight with Gwyneth Paltrow, sources on the 'Iron Man 2' set say Paltrow is making more enemies than friends. Paltrow has been labelled a "snob" by members of the crew and has had "zero contact" with her co-stars, Britian's OK! Magazine reports.

The actress, who stars as Pepper Potts in the movie, has reportedly avoided Johansson throughout filming. "She wasn't outright rude to Scarlett, she just didn't ever speak to her. Gwyneth went out of her way to avoid Scarlett, and they had zero contact, at Gwyneth's choosing," sources said.

"Gwyneth is extremely cool at work. She's just a step above professional, too snobby. Gwyneth is not friendly to anyone, and tends to make people feel awkward and uncomfortable," the magazine reports.

Johansson denies all the chatter, citing Paltrow's family life as the reason she's not bonding with her co-stars. "I have nothing but wonderful things to say about working with her. She's very much out of the loop, you know - she's got a wonderful family whom she spends a lot of time with," Johansson said.

You're absolutely right. I've been saying for years just because her parents were in the biz is the only reason she has any visibility. Same for Tori Spelling. I could never stand GP's bland, washed-out looks with that pained belly-aching expression.Insignificant at best.

I would take working with Gwyneth any day over working with that ugly fathead Scarlett Johan--however the hell you spell it. She is one ugly dog - Are you sure her grandpappy's not in the business???!! That is usually how girls who resemble cold, dead, ugly fish get jobs.

the reason could be total jealousy & insecurity on gwyneth's part because she is so much older than scarlett. gwyneth is 37 and scarlett is only 24.
scarlett is it now & gwyneth is old news. hollywood still treats 30 yr olds and 40 yr olds as being really over the hill. that world and the world of modeling can really kick a secure but aging girl off her high horse fast lol.

I happen to like Paltrow as an actress, so I might be a little biased. I also am under the realization that she is a huge lefty; but she manages to keep her opinions to herself and under the radar. So I have a good deal of respect for her professionalism and her respect, in turn, for her audience. Therefore, I choose to believe that if she comes off snotty, it is because she wants to get done with her day and return to her family, which she seems to find more important than hanging around and goofing with the cast and crew. Spending 12 to 18 hours a day with people is enough "togetherness", why compound the situation with unnecessary banter.
