A Jonas Joins 'Idol' But Simon Still Mourns Paula

"I didn't want to get involved in what's going on because it wasn't really any of my business but I spoke to her a lot through the whole process," Cowell told FOXNews.com. "She was the heart, so you've taken that away so it's a different show. I'm sad, I am."
Though Cowell and the 'Straight Up' singer often played up a rivalry on the show, Cowell added, "I will support her in anything she wants to do next. I think she is TV gold, genuinely."
'Idol' judge Randy Jackson agreed with his co-star. "Me and Ryan and Simon and her started this journey together, so I'm really shocked and really proud and really just couldn't believe she's not here," he told FOXNews. "We love her, I'm sure she's going to be great whatever she decides to do."

I love Paula. This show is nothing without her. She,s been there from day one. Please bring her back. She deserves the money she,s asking for

This fight has been brewing since they brought that idiot Kara onto the show. I don't care that she is more knowledgeable about music than Paula or even that she is a good singer. With Kara it always seems like a 13 year old girl at a concert. The way she talks and the things she says just give me the creeps. And the talented songstress? She wrote a real winner for Kris and Adam this year didn't she!?!? The execs at American Idol need to swallow their pride and bring Paula back. If they need to make changes in the budget to allow for that, then maybe they could dump KARA!

We've decided not to watch next season for two reasons: 1) There is NO WAY Adam didn't win that season, results are all scewed and unfair and (2) Paula son't be there. However, someone needs to google Kara's name and look at her pedigree. It's awesome and she is extraordinarily talented in her own right. I just prefer Paula's personality. As far as Kara's expertise goes, it's WAY up there in the music industry. I'm going to miss American Idol, but watching a rigged show is no fun.

Paula always showed a more sensitive side of the side and was kind to all contestants by using constructive criticism to spare any hurt feelings. The show will not be the same without her. She will be sorely missed.

Yes, Kara..."a creep." And replacing Pauly with a Jonas bro is NOT going to bring back the thousands you lost when you let Paula go. Good luck to Paula whatever you do. Though I am not a fan, I do not like what Idol has done to you and I wouldn't like it had they done this to anyone who had started the show and helped it to grow as the three have. These three are magic for Idol.....you've lost your magic!

I doubt I'll watch this year. I cannot take any more of Kara. Love Randy, Simon is a kick, and Ryan is so cute. But Kara completely tips the scale to the wrong side!
Reply
I don't care what Kara's expertise...you are nothing on a show like this without a winning personality and that is what they lost when they lost Paula!

American Idol will bomb without Paula since viewers like me will not be watching. Paula is key to the show's success and the producers didn't realize that. They are going to learn the hard and costly way.
Reply
If Simon, Randy, and what his name, all are so sincere about the loss of Paula, why didn't they offer to help by intervening at the network?
Seems these statements came out of the PR room at the FOX network rather than those three. Paula on the other hand. What really qualifies her to be judge on music other than her own synthesized, manipulated recordings of her screechy voice.

I have followed Paula's career for years and she is one of the real reasons I have continued to watch American Idol. I do desire that the ones in charge reconsider her salary request. why is it when a "woman" desires more money they get canned or in show piz savy they get less camera time. It just goes to show that this remains to be "a man's world" right up to the groin line ( smile).

I can't see what the big deal is with Paula leaving. Your still going to have 3 judges berating these kids and destroying thier dreams. Watching Paula stumble for some type of response while looking higher than a kite is no big loss.

If Paula is gone, which I'm really hoping she's not, at least then I'll be able to finally STOP watching Idol. How in GOD'S name could they keep Randy over her?!?! He's such a bore, 'dawg, I'm telling ya dawg, dawg, dawg, dawg, dawg.' I'm SO freaken' sick and tired of hearing that. I hope Paula is back. How about getting rid of Carla (is that her name?) After that piece of crap song she wrote for the 2 finalists to sing last year, you'd think she would have been out of there so quick our head would be spinning. What an AWFUL song!

Teenagers will love Idol more, but adults? I don't think so... I'm happy for the teeny boppers that will enjoy the 'now' kiddy show starring teletubbie, joe jonas. Maybe its my age, but really, Joe Jonas? I won't be able to watch the show, it is no longer serious, it's a cartoon network for children at prime-time. Bummer in the summer.

Somehow, I just can't believe Simon.

I think it's just dead wrong that Paula won't be back. She IS the heart of the show! I was already disappointed with the outcome of last year's winner, and now with this, chances are I won't be back either. Too bad, I used to really like this show.

A Jonas brother? No offense, how can he judge talent? He is a fairly new "talent" himself. I doubt he will have much to contribute.

I am amzed how much support Paula has received. When she was on the show all the media did was clammer about how out of it she always was, probably drunk or on pills. I, for one, am glad she is gone. I don't think she really lended anything to the show - she just humiliated herself week after week. And yes, the show will be different, but I think it will be more professional with out the token ding-a-ling.

I think Joe Jonas should be4 given a chance at something new. People shouldn't judge until he shows what he can give. It is just like trying to get a your first job and no one wanting to give u a chance. Yes Paula was good & I loved her myself but we shouldn't judge just because how young & goofy he is on his show. U never know maybe he is mature enough to be a Judge on AI. Good luck Paula in whatever u want to do & good luck Joe on this job.

Take KARA's salary and give it to PAULA... Get rid of Kara... Without Paula... I WILL NOT WATCH AI this season.. Sorry Simon.. as much as I love you..... Paula was your muse...

Foolish, foolish writers! It isn't so much about the money as it is about respect. Once again a woman is supposed to take a much lower salary. Paula has money. she will always be financially fluid as she has so much going for her. It's about American Idol showing her no respect. Kara? YUCK Visiting judges, nice try but no cigars.
