David Copperfield has been hit with a lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old model, but the magician has hit back at those claims.
Copperfield calls the accusations an "extortion for money, plain and simple," PEOPLE reports.
The illusionist stands accused of bringing the alleged victim to his private island in the Bahamas in 2007, where according to court documents he "attacked and sexually assaulted her" and "threatened to kill her," which left her "extremely traumatized."
In a statement released by his lawyers, Copperfield claimed his accuser "has a history of lying ... which continues in this lawsuit."
"The facts are that there were more than 20 women and men on the island during her visit. The allegation that there was no one on the island to help her – even if she needed help – is preposterous," he added.
Alex Da Silva, a choreographer featured in 'So You Think You Can Dance,' was arrested April 4th. On August 18, he was arrested on a felony warrant charging him with sexually assaulting four of his dancing students.
this same man has been accused of all kinds of sexually misconducts including rape. if it isnt true, look to me like after being accused in the past that he would be more careful and protect himself from even the look of improper behaviour.
So that would mean that you were on the island at the time of the "alleged" attack, correct? And that in fact, you saw the "alleged" assault take place right?
David himself already used that line in one of his TV Broadcasts. (During a trick that used a borrowed ring, a child's sneaker (prop), and his empty back pocket.) It was timed perfectly.
I'd like to comment but it appears the boards are being subjected to large amounts of advertisers with no repercussions. It takes to long to sort through the posts. Such a shame.
Gerad, had a tough time with women in your life??? You just automatically assume she is after money, why? I saw his show once and walked out because the sexual overtones were too much. I thought it was a magic show, but his constant grinding on his assistants between illusions(usually 20 minutes) made me want to go take a shower.
I think he might be guilty, Ive seen his shows and they sexual tones in it. Just go to one of his shows and u can kinda feel what kind of person he is.
I stand by my original comment. He had guys pick girls out of the audience to come back stage after the shows. This girl he is accused of attacking may have been dense to have thought that there would be others on his island when she flew there but she didn't deserve to be raped by someone who thought he was a sexual god. I hope he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law and doesn't buy his way out. In fact, I was disappointed to see Las Vegas still had his show going last time I was there.:Neither me nor ANY of my friends would ever go see one of his shows again.
When my daughter was 16 we went to Las Vegas. After his magic show he was selling autographed photos of himself for 10 each. After he met my daughter he sent one of his 'guys' over to us and asked if she would like to go to his room when he was finished. I told the guy that my daughter was ONLY 16!!!! The guy then was seen approaching other girls asking the same thing. I have always believed he is a perverted weirdo after that. My daughter is pretty, but she did NOT look like an OLDER gal.
That is so disturbing and puts this whole story in a totally different light. The victim probably went with him to his island because she actually thought he liked her and didn't have a clue he was a sex fiend.
David Cop a feel This wouldn't be the first time you have been involved in deviant sexual escapades. Why don't you try making your schlong disappear, it will suit you fine since you haven't any balls either. I will put up some money for your defense if you make these losers posting ads on this comment board disappear as well you washed up molester, don't you know we got the "MindFreak"..
How about we let him have his day in court? Haven't we learned enough from the Michael Jackson case? The parents forced the children into extorting Mr. Jackson for money. Let him have his day in court. Don't judge until you KNOW all the facts. Its the American way
Hey dumbdumbhead53, are you the jury, the judge, and the executioner? Let him have his day in court before you go running your yap. He is innocent until proven guilty. Sounds like another money making scheme to me
