Jon Gosselin Plays Nice With Sick Kids

Call us cynical, but we have to wonder if Jon Gosselin's recent trip to visit ailing children was a last-ditch attempt to rescue a failing reputation during his unseemly divorce with wife Kate. Us magazine reports that the 'Jon & Kate' star spent three hours this week with young cancer patients at Morgan Stantley Children's Hospital in New York.

"Jon is trying to get involved with more kids charities," a source told the magazine. "He is very into kids and being a dad is very sympathetic to the plight of less fortunate children."

Public support has swayed from Jon to Kate since the couple announced their separation, as the focus on Gosselin has moved away from his family to his recent exploits with various women, including 22-year-old Hailey Glassman and former Star report Kate Major.

The same source dismissed claims by Major that Gosselin used to sneak her into his home while the Gosselin kids were sleeping.

"He has never been to a hotel with her and has NEVER brought her into his house or around his kids and would never ever do that," the source confirmed. "And he never planned a trip to Vegas with her. He left her a message [earlier this summer] when he was going to break up with Hailey [Glassman] and never to speak to him again and that's the last he's heard from her. She was a mistake."

He should be staying at home with his own children and comforting them instead of trying to look like a hero who cares for ailing children. I would'nt want him around my children after the way he has been acting and sleeping around.

u know what?! u need to back off. he might've been actually cared. its people like u who make people feel terrible about themselves. and the press is just making it worse. yes, he was rumored to have cheated on kate, but kate has been rumored to cheat on Jon. so they are either both guilty or innocent.

Listen the man was married to a psycho for nearly 10 years, who berated him and mentally abused him. He is going out and meeting new women good for him. Who is to say how much or how little time he is spending with his kids. Also if everytime you were to be with your kids your witch skank of an ex show up and calls the police how are you supposed to go? Kate should be exiled on an island in the middle of nowhere, along with any women like her. Ladies stop being so whiny and life will be easier.

If the marriage was not working, then the split was good for everyone, including the kids. If children see a volitale relationship, it is no good for them. It seems that Jon is constantly targeted. People should walk in his shoes before judging him so much. Everyone has a right to happiness-reality stars included.

For all the people that think he should be with his kids they have a custodity agreement!!! Kate is not going to let him be there when she is except for holidays!!! And do you remember the episode where they went to saint judes to give the christmas pressents he really enjoyed that!! I dont know why everyone is hating on jon their marrige has been over!! So get over it!!

Has anyone really watched the way she treated him? She is a control freak! I wonder how many Jon critics would tolerate abusive treatment like this. As a father, nothing is more important to me than my kids, but a person can only put up with being treated like crap for so long. There are alot of one sided comments and judgements out there.

I've said it before, and I'll repeat it. NO WOMAN CAN TAKE A MAN'S BALLS UNLESS HE WILLINGLY LETS HER. Yes, Kate has issues.She seems to be obsessive/compulsive, but for all those years that she put him down, he sat there and took it. He can't blame her now after the fact when he didn't put up a fight. If she is agressive, he should have been so too.

In a previous episode when the couple were together John stated that his father did a lot for childrens' charities. He even went back to the ski resort and was with crippled children skiing. I think it would be nice if this couple tried some counseling. No matter how I look at this now, Kate was not very nice to John in a lot of episodes and I'm a female saying that. I feel most sorry for the kids. This show is in failure mode for sure.

Poor Jon, poor Jon, he's only 32 and he has never had a life. Oh BOO HOO! Grow up you whiney baby. No wonder Kate had to instruct him and lead him all the time, he is a dead beat who cannot seem to act like the adult he should. No one forced him to marry at 22 and have children, that was his choice and now he acts as though he was forced into it. His kids are better off without hime around, and if I was Kate his skanks wouldn't be near my kids either.

I never missed there show , but since they are getting there divorce i quit watcting it. I cant stand the way kate acts at john . I HOPE THEY TAKE THE SHOW OFF THE AIR. The kids are getting hurt and the John and Kate are having all the fun.

I am just so sick of all of these people saying, "well, his wife was soooo mean to him" and condoning what he is doing.
1. Kate did not hold him hostage during the dating stage or FORCE him to marry her. He LIKED to defer to her because it's easier for him.
2. NEITHER ONE PLANNED to have 8 kids. They turned to fertility treatments after they couldn't get pregnant and had twins, then when they tried again, there were 6 instead of 1 and THEY CHOSE to keep them ALL *applause*
3. Kate DID in fact, berate him and condescend him, but he is an ADULT and could have - at ANY time - stood up for HIMSELF and let her know what was acceptable and unacceptable. We ALL have that choice.
4. It's not called "standing up for yourself" when you just up and leave your family. That's very cowardly, actually. He still has not "grown a pair" as some of you claim, he just ran scared and began mistreating Kate thinking that he deserved some sort of revenge.
It's obvious he is very immature and selfish. I hope for his and his family's sake, he gets over this mid-life crises and settles down. I wish the best for all 10 of them-especially those kids.
