David Alan Grier Seeking Joint Custody

Actor David Alan Grier is seeking shared custody of his 1-year-old daughter, according to court papers filed this week in Los Angeles (via PEOPLE.) The 'In Living Color' star also requested the court deny his estranged wife Christine Kim any spousal support.

Last month, Kim filed for divorce from the actor after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. She's seeking sole custody of their child, Luisa, with visitation for the actor, as well as spousal support.

A lawyer for Kim and a publicist for Grier weren't immediately available for comment.

This geek is not funny, he has done a lot more than Living Color, a show that was funny but set the black advancement movement back about 50 years as they portrayed ghetto as cool. I hope he gets soaked in court, maybe he will get some funny material out of it.

There's not enough background information for me to take sides here. I've always liked David Alan Grier, but I think he could be a real jerk if he wanted to. I don't know enough about his wife to form an opinion about her, but a lot of women hook up with stars and have their children to ensure a cushy future for themselves. This may not be true of this woman, as I've said...I don't know the ends and outs of their marriage. I think joint custody is too confusing for kids, bouncing them back and forth isn't healthy, IMO. However......as long as neither parent is abusive, I don't think kids should be kept from either parent, ever. David has no obligation to his soon-to-be-ex, but he has every obligation to see that his daughter is provided for, if he's not awarded custody. Let's just hope these two parents will be civil & mature for the sake of their daughter, and not turn her into a wishbone/pawn. The kids are always the ones to suffer, it would seem.

Tyler Perry has helped the cause. Not only does Tyler do comedy, but he has shown a penchant for serious genres too. Just because a person does comedy does not make them a sell out. The Wayans have their own production company as does Tyler Perry who has a Production Facility in Atlanta. He puts people to work and is successful at it. Let's not be so critical of these people. Remember, the likes of Flip Wilson, Slappy White and other talented performers who depended on white studios to hire them and others. They paved a way for the success of our black actors and producers. It's just not enough of us.

Asian women love status more than they love their man; which is why the majority of Asian women who come to America only date white men: It's all about public perception with them.
And with public perception regarding the black male being what it is--true or not--that union was doomed as soon as she was assured of getting paid.
Grier got laid and played, now she's getting paid.

It's amazing how much racism still exist in the world today. Every time I turn around whites are making racist comments about black people. And you wonder why we always pull the race card out. If you would put the race deck away we wouldn't have to play the card. We live in a sick world and racism shouldn't be a factor right now.
