Danyl Johnson....you are adorable and I'm in LOVE with YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are a GREAT singer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give me a break. All he did was a lot of yelling, and killing a great Beatles song. To me in was like the second coming of Terrance Trent D'arby, without the dreads of course.

You're right. If this is the best audition Cowell has ever seen (and what the heck does "singlehandedly" mean in this context?) his taste is terrible!
VERY entertaining, but what would he sound like without a huge backup chorus?

Very nice! He will definitely be one to watch. Wish we could get the X-Factor on BBC America!

A star in the making for sure. That was a fantastic performance. And what a voice!!! And for those of you that are a bit confused about what show they are watching, this is not American Idol. American Idol is done for the season. This show is actually about talent and not cuteness like American Idol has become. It was about time for Paula to move on. All she did was babble incoherently most of the time and copy Randy's comments anyway. She was sickening while blubbering over the cute boys.

OH I'm sorry Greggy...did I hurt your little feelings? Why don't you go kiss Simon's hairy ass! How ignorant of you to equate having money to being a judge of talent! Hate to break it to you , nimwit , but there are plenty of people getting paid for things they know nothing about like... Paula?! All you have to do is listen to the comments that he makes and anyone with an ear for music would know how he has no clue what he's talking about..you are obviously a tone-deaf follower..don't give up , little one , someday you may amount to something! lol
A lot of no talent singers/actors make it and make it big.. Ms Cyrus, Britney(sp), Goldie's daughter, J. Roberts,
You are a good one to call somebody a nitwit twit. Like I said before, you obviously wouldn't know talent if it bit you on your hairy ass. And Simon doesn't need me or anyone else to back him up. He has proven it time and time again that he knows talent when he see it. And if you haven't noticed, He is responsible for many of the runner ups success. Better worry about yourself making something of yourself and not me. And btw, I own my own business so.........NEXT!
Simon wouldn't know talent if it bit him on his hairy ass!

And Maryann, It's quite obvious that you wouldn't know talent either if it bit you on your hairy ass as well. As long as Simon has been doing what he does and making the money he does it's pretty obvious that your statement is clearly a bunch of BS. Grow up already and stop hatin'. What can you say you have contributed to society? Drawing a welfare check while sitting on your lazy ass in front of a computer?
What is wrong with Some of you people? To me, this guy is just as exciting as Adam is!!! I loved him immensely, and if I lived in the UK, this guy would definately have All of my votes! So what if some of you think he had some off notes (I didn't hear any); did you hear the audience reaction??? He lifted Everyone up out of their seats from about the 3rd note!!!!!!!!!!! Duh! That's what a singer does, lifts everyone up with their voice, emotion and humbleness! He's a breath of fresh air! I wish he was here in the Us, so we could hear more of him! Love him! Love Adam!

It's odd that the x-factors auditions are in front of this huge audience and has musical accompaniment. He did a great job, but kinda unfair. American idol doesn't allow the same kind of audition. If they did they might get better performers.

Hello Everyone.
Well ...
I loved this Beatles song when the Beatles gave it to us ...
It took me a very long time to understand and allow for the existence of, and tolerate the constant playing and repeating (on the stations of seemingly every radio) of, a Joe Walsh interpretation ...
But this is not what I have come to understand music to be. Everything was background; instruments and female voices taken from something else, something better . This contestant lifted his microphone by himself, so I can give points for that; and he did offer some of his own vibrating vocal chords, so I can give him some points for that. But I just cannot say that the interpretation was anything even better than what can be heard in any karioke [sp?] bar.
Please, Everyone; give more in your posts as to why doing nothing for ones-own-self is regarded as competing at all, notwithstanding competing with such high regards as the Beatles.
Hope this helps.

You hope your comment helps with what Alan? Getting others to agree with your opinion, one that was not even close to being a fair or correct representation of the young man's performance.
I honestly have to wonder if some of the people posting comments actually saw the same video I watched or if they watched it at all. Some people are going negative about whatever topic is up for discussion. And without first taking the time to arm themselves with factual information that relates to the subject.
Obviously these people are so focused about spewing their ugly, negative remarks they don't even know that this particular article had absolutely nothing to do with Paula Abdul or American Idol but seeing a picture of Simon Cowell they immediately assume that they are in the know and start with the nasty remarks about Paula (a woman that obviously has a serious problem and needs help desperately). Instead everyone is too busy laughing at her. And because of that, she is my main reason for commenting at all.
I have never considered myself a big Paula Abdul fan but I have no reason to dislike her either. I can relate to her in several ways. I have been where she is and I have done what I believe she is doing. I see so much of the person I used to be in her actions and I hurt for her.
Have any of you ever considered that maybe the reason we lose so many talented people way too early in life is because they are not strong enough to face the ridicule they know would follow from the media, late night comedians, and so on. Not to mention all the people who don't even know them but feel they are qualified to post hateful, mean and extremely hurtful comments all over the internet as if it were written in stone somewhere. But in reality those comments are extremely painful but insignificant when it comes to all the other ramifications they will face as far as business losses, professional issues, knowing you are responsible for your employees getting a paycheck on the 1st and 15th of every month so they can care for their families, the constant stress of dealing with papparazzi and fearing they are going to discover their secret any time now. The thought of facing the thousands of fans that do care about them. The ones who have done nothing but show them love and support since the beginning. Just the thought of facing those people after they knew their secret would be enough to make them physically ill. I can't even begin to face how hard it would be to deal with even a few of these things much less all of them. And that doesn't even take into consideration the issues they will have to face in dealing with their family members. I don't think there is one person out there in their right mind that would want to go through anything even close to this in their personal life much less let the world in to watch your every move. Just the thought is overwhelming so instead of facing all of this humiliation and pain they use a little more and then a little more. And while running from their worst fears they run out of time. What they feared for so long inevitably happens, the world knows their dirty little secret but they don't have to worry about it anymore. And the comments start again...
I suffered in silence with a serious addiction to painkillers for several years mainly because I didn't want to disappoint my family. Finally admitting that I had a problem was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Who wants to admit to a weakness of any kind or actually say that you feel like you not only failed yourself but everyone you love too by letting something take control of your life. The years that I was trapped in my addiction were the darkest years of my life. Unless you have been there, you have no idea what it feels like knowing something you cannot control has taken over every part of your life. Not only that, you also know without a doubt that it is going to kill. You don't know when or how but it's coming and you feel like you have absolutely no way of stopping it. And as long as you stay loaded your mind is occupied with other things so those dark, scary thoughts don't have a chance to creep up on you. So you keep using because otherwise you have to face those things that you have worked so hard to avoid. But when you are physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted trying to outrun the inevitable you finally shut down and your demons are there waiting. And so it starts all over again, an insane cycle of neverending madness that makes perfect sense to you.
Paula has already publicly admitted having a problem with painkillers in the past. The things she does that people ridicule her for are classic signs of substance abuse. She is incoherent at times, unable to make sense when speaking or maintain her train of thought. When commenting on someone's performance she makes comments that have nothing to do with how they performed because as soon as the performance was over it was gone to her. Its not that she doesn't want to make a legitimate comment, she can't. She is forced to make remarks about things she is seeing at that moment because her attention span and memory are to the point of being non-existant. She mumbles considerably when speaking which is another classic indication of substance abuse. There are so many if you know what you are watching, so many that it isn't funny but extremely sad. You are watching someone slowly headed to a meltdown in the near future.
The constant childish behavior directed at Simon more than anyone else is her way of putting up a smoke screen, believing that she is being funny and entertaining so no one suspects a thing. She is working and doing and excellent job in her mind. She doesn't have a clue how it comes across to those still here on planet earth. And watching the "playback" of the show like they mention doing each week doesn't show her that there is anything wrong. She sees it as being at work, being Paula Abdul entertaining the audience and giving solid advice to the contestants. Doing what she is paid to do each week on American Idol. She doesn't see anything wrong with her actions because in her mind those are the normal actions of a successful woman in the entertainment business doing her job. She cannot see what we see, it is impossible in her state.
I honestly believe that her leaving American Idol had nothing to do with money and everything to do with her behavior getting more and more bizarre. But I feel like Simon and the others making decisions didn't want the press a revelation like that would bring so it was much less painful for everyone involved to blame it on a money issue. I'm sure that's what they told her too so she has no idea that it involved anything other than money. She believes her secret is still safe and she came out the martyr in the whole scenario so it worked out best for everyone. When in reality it just made it even harder for anyone to reach her and convince her that she is on that downward spiral that never has a happy ending.
I hope the outcome is different than the ones we have seen in the last few years. She has too much life ahead of her full of potential to give up and let her slip away so keep her in your prayers.
Fortunately I was blessed and came out the other side which is a long, hard journey but well worth it once you make it. I just celebrated eight years free of the substance I didn't think I could go more than a couple of hours without a short time ago. That in itself still amazes me every time I think about it because I was so sure it would eventually kill me. Talk about feeling free...when I finally was able to knock that monkey off my back it was like the weight of the world lifting off of me.
That's not something I take for granted though, not even for an instant. I know that addiction is a cunning, baffling and very powerful disease that will always be a part of me. Thankfully it is in remission now but I know without any hesitation that if I slip it will take over again in a heartbeat. And it will be there waiting for that opportunity for the rest of my life. I have seen people with 20 years or more fall off the wagon and climb back on it again. They blinked and their addiction was there to take over. So I have to stay on my toes and work at staying sober. I am definitely a work in progress :)
I'm am so thankful that I have a choice now which I didn't have a few years ago. It wasn't fun anymore if it ever was but it quickly became a necessity just so I could function at some level.
I'm not the person I want to be yet but more importantly I don't have to be the person I was ever again.
If you have taken the time to read this far, thanks! Something must have caught your attention to make you stay and if that makes you reach out to a person you know is in trouble or tell someone that is sober today that you are proud of them. Those things don't cost you a dime but to the person receiving them they are priceless.
And please think twice before you say or do something that only takes a second to hurt someone for a lifetime.
Last but not least in the words of Bob Marley...Before you judge someone, make sure your own hands are clean!
Simon is loosing it, this was NOT the best audition ever...RETIRE SIMON! It's time.
