Brad Pitt Isn't a Cruise-Slamming 'Basterd'

Last week, reports swirled that 'Inglorious Basterds' star Brad Pitt was quoted in a German magazine saying that Tom Cruise's 'Valkyrie' was a "ridiculous" movie, a jab that seemed quite out of character for the normally class-act Pitt. Perhaps something got lost in translation, because Pitt's rep says it's totally bogus.

Pitt's manager tells PEOPLE that the report is "inaccurate," and that the 'Inglorious Basterds' star "has never even seen 'Valkyrie.'"

Both 'Valkyrie' and 'Basterds' feature Nazis, but the similarities stop there. 'Valkyrie' featured Cruise in a serious tale about an internal Nazi plot to kill Adolf Hitler. Pitt's 'Basterds' is a fantasy film about a rogue troop of soldiers who brutally scalp Nazis.

This past weekend, 'Basterds' opened up by taking in $37.6 million, the most director Quentin Tarantino has ever pulled in for an opening weekend.

If Mr. Pitt actually said that "Valkyrie" was a ridiculous movie wouldn't make him unclassy. It would just make him accurate. I saw Valkyrie and I think ridiculous pretty much sums it up. The movie plot and story was actually pretty good but if Germans are to speak so that us uno-lingual English speakers can understand at least give them somewhat of a believable German accent. My guess is that Mr Cruise speaks Cruise and that is about it so to not let any of the other actors upstage him everyone had to speak without the hint of a German accent. This totally destroyed being drawn into the film in any way. They should have at least been made to watch re-runs of Hogans Heroes.

IF pitt did say what he said, i certainly dont see it as a slam! valkyrie was an odd movie because of cruise! he is what 5'6"/5'7" yet he was eye to eye with virtually everyone in the movie! Its hard to imagine a nazi army of midgets! However a movie about an army of midgets would be far more interesting and entertaining than valkyrie was! lets just say that about 46 min. into valkyrie one of our friends said :"hey you guys have spaceballs(insert your own joke here)" so we watched spaceballs instead!

First off, I think the five previous comments must have been made by total idiots.

To begin, how is a man at 5'7" considered a midget's height? What are you smoking? The height range for average men is from 5'7" to 6'1" technically. What? you have to be 6'0" or taller to not be considered to be called a "midget"? That's a total joke let alone wrong all together. Just to tell you 5'7" is a normal height for men (Hell, most of Hollywood men are short & I could list ten pages worth of men who are so-called "short" in Hollywood who are only 5'6"/5'7"/5'8"/5'9"/5'10" & most of them are in the 5'7"/5'8" range). Hell, the average man is only 5'10" which is the most common height for men. Brad Pitt isn't even 6'0". He's only 5'10 1/2" if barely 5'11". I wouldn't judge someone by their height.

As far as…"Valkyrie"? It's not so-called "ridiculous" by any means. It's no surprise to hear negative B/S from the internet as it's were all the idiots in the world can speak.

Also, I clearly don't think Brad Pitt would say something like that as that's not him. This is just the media trying to make sh** up as usual. Brad is considered one of the most down to earth guys anyone could ever meet & I've heard this from people who have meant him. The media sucks!

I don´t think that Mr.Pitt, known as a gentleman and a down to earth actor, has been that rude referring to Tom Cruise´s movie "Valkyrie".
