Lindsay 'Upset' After Apparent Robbery

Lindsay Lohan's home in Los Angeles has been robbed.

The actress' mom, Dina Lohan, told PEOPLE that her daughter is "okay, but upset," after the break in.

"The safe was ripped out of the wall, and the door was off the hinges and door handles removed. Bags, shoes and jewelry were taken too. Thank God she wasn't home," the Lohan matriarch added.

Police and repairmen arrive at Lindsay Lohan's Los Angeles, CA home on August 23, 2009 after the actress allegedly discovered she had been burglarized during the early morning hours.

"Lindsay and her sister Ali Lohan were fortunate [in] that they weren't in the home when this incident happened," a rep for the 'Mean Girls' star said in a statement.

When questioned about the incident, the Los Angeles Police Department responded, "All we can confirm is that we are investigating a possible break in at the residence and we still have officers on the scene. We got a call shortly before 7 a.m. this morning and it's still under investigation. No arrests have been made."

actually, she has been accused of theft before. she was at a restaurant/club place and there was a woman who sat next to her or around her but they didn't kno each other and that woman had a fur coat that lindsay lohan took. idk if it was by accident or not but when the woman contacted lindsay's ppl and asked for the jacket back, she refused to return it.

All of the commercials that I have seen only show the system stopping white men. The burglars must not have been.

She is a kid - kids don't think about alarm systems but this robbery has forced her to grow up fast so I imagine she will be getting a security system very, very soon.

this story and others like it about celebrities does not even register on my interest level of what is going on in the world. They live in a fairy tale world and when the real world actually wakes them up from time to time they cant handle it. Sorry, but the rest of us live in that real world every day.

I agree, Me and my wife were talking about this yesterday, in regards to actors or celebrities playing roles on the big screen, then they leave the set of filming or perfomances, but they continue acting in real life issues off the stage! And it's very sad especially, with marriage they have no values and people praise them in thier destrcutive behavior! and follow their patterns

You people are so cold! When I was her age someone broken in and stole everything I owned including towels and clothes (I knew who did it but couldn't prove it to police so they wouldn't search my neighbor's place) and it is devastating to have this happen! Sure she has done a lot to bring stuff on herself, but have a little compassion, imagine someone being in your home and going through your stuff!

She probably tore the place up in a crack fueled rage and now wants to collect insurance...sad. I wish she and the 45 year old sister had been home when this happened. Linzey Loman (and the rest of her ridiculous family) should really just go away.

By the way Jake, she WAS accused of stealing someone's fur coat at a nightclub (and then being photographed with it on), and she was also accused of stealing jewelry she wore at a photo shoot. This girl is useless. Boycott Linzey Loman!!

Lindsay in incapable of getting good press for herself. All her antics have made her look like a drugged out alkie with psychological issues. Rehab was just another way to get more press - she doesn't give a damn about trying to lead a sober life, not even half sober. She was a child star with so much potential but fell victim to Hollywood's pitfalls. I doubt she even has the ability to act anymore.
