Melanie Griffith Returns to Rehab

Melanie Griffith's ongoing struggle to stay sober has led her back to rehab, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

The actress is seeking treatment for undisclosed issues at the Cirque Lodge in Utah. "She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy, " her publicist Robin Baum told Star magazine. "This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."

Griffith, who is married to Antonio Banderas, has struggled with substance abuse for decades and has twice sought medical treatment to help her kick the habit.

Sources tell Star that this trip to rehab is for alcohol.

"She's working with the counsellors on getting control of her demons. The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober."

Didn't some "Famous Son" in a "Well Known Book" talk about "casting stones". Unless you are perfect try and not judge. You can have all the fame and money in the world and still be a wounded soul. We are only human after all.

I think it is really great that she recognizes that she has a problem and is trying to do something about it. She is not the huge star that she used to be, so I don't think this is just another publicity stunt. I sincerely hope she is successful in her recovery and gets her career back on track.

I just finished watching Melanie in "Shining Through"--she was brilliant. Also loved her in "Crazy in Alabama." This woman is a gifted actress who has many more good years ahead of her. Let's hope Hollywood has the good sense to get behind her with worthwhile scripts that can showcase her talent. Best of luck, Miss Melanie.

That's too bad. I never knew she has a serious problem. I like Antonio Banderas. I think he's really a cool actor. To think that he is also a victim of her problem, he stayed with her for a long time. She is lucky to have him. He must have loved her very much. I hate that.

People may feel a certain type of way about her but she's just like me and you. You may have your downest time or your highest time but problems and stress may turn you a different way. I remember how she was in the 80's, makin movies and looking good. Whatever she went through is what she went through. you can't judge someone for their issue's because you may go through the same thing but handle it differently. She was great and still can be but she will have to overcome those issues shes working on. You can't knock anyone for trying to do what they have to. She's just like you but in a different body and lifestyle. Don't hate on her because she's doing her and you haven't been where she's been in life to understand her situation.
