Zombie Mentors 'H2' Star Scout Taylor

'Halloween II' actress
Scout Taylor spent over a month screaming her heart out and being terrorized by movie villain Michael Myers. And although the physical and mental strain of filming was sometimes difficult, she credits director
Rob Zombie with her success on and off set.
Zombie even stepped in as a mentor while she auditioned for 'The Runaways.' "I'm not going to lie, he helped me through it all. I was calling and venting, 'Oh my god, what do I do?' It was nice to have him around," Taylor told
PopEater.
In 'H2' you play Laurie Strode, which was originally played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Did you feel pressure having to jump into this role?
"When I was doing the first one, I was really nervous especially when it hit the media and everyone was comparing me to Jamie Lee Curtis. But when I got on set, Rob [Zombie] came up to me and said, 'You are portraying Laurie Strode and not Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode.' That eased me down a bit. When you are remaking a character, it is nerve wrecking... All I can say is have an open mind. This movie is more realistic and fresh. The original 'Halloween' films are amazing. I love them both, but there is no comparison."
How did you get into the mindset of being terrorized by Mike Myers?
"Honestly, it wasn't hard to do all the crying and screaming. I do it and when they cut, I'm laughing. Then as soon as they start rolling, I'm crying again. It's weird that I can just do that. A few times I struggled, but otherwise, it was pretty easy for me to get into and out of it."
Were there any really physical or emotional points during filming?
"I had a little episode when I did a scene with Danielle Harris. It was really emotional. I was crying and ran down the stairs to try to get out of the terror I was feeling. Tyler Mane (who plays Michael Myers) was standing in front of me, and I was crying to him, 'This is so hard. I can't do this. I can't get out of it.' I have never felt that before. It was really intense."
So I'm assuming you're a huge horror movie fan. Is that correct?
"Yeah, I am. My dad is a mortician, and my mom started having me watch horror movies when I was nine. I am definitely a horror buff. I have tons of skulls, and the list goes on and on."
Is there anything you're actually scared of?
"This is no joke. I was really scared of Michael Myers' mask when I was younger. My uncle had one in his room, and I would not go in there unless he was with me. That sounds super cheesy, but it's true... It's so funny now."
So what's it like working with Rob Zombie?
"He is amazing and is my favorite director that I've worked with. He's so easy going, and he definitely lets you play around with your character and trusts you. It's a really great relationship to have especially when you're doing a horror movie -- crying, screaming and just really out there."
You have been cast as Lita Ford in 'The Runaways' -- despite being turned down during your original auditions. Was that frustrating?
"Yeah. Originally, I was supposed to do Sandy West, the drummer, but they gave that role to someone else. Then they offered me the bass player, and I didn't even know how to play. And then the producers came up to me and were like, 'What would you think about playing Lita Ford the lead guitarist?' I was like, 'What? We're filming in two weeks.' It was such a great opportunity, but a little overwhelming because I had to practice and practice... I had called Rob Zombie because I needed a bass and guitar teacher. He helped me through it because I wanted to be in this movie so bad."
In 'Runaways,' you play alongside 'Twilight' actresses Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. How was that?
"I honestly thought we weren't all going to get along. But we're all so similar and had a blast. They were such incredible girls. I miss them a lot. We were like a little girl group... It was crazy though like when I went out with Rob, Kristen and Dakota. The paparazzi were everywhere. It's sad, but I guess it comes with the territory... It's not like you can just go, 'No. Stop. Not today.' It is something you're stuck with."

The remake is good, but come on... The original is better. Today's remakes are too bloody, too much sex. The original was scary, but the sex and blood were very minimal and I was scared to death just by the music and shadows. Jaws was the same thing, you didn't have to see the shark to be terrorized by it. The music alone freaked me out. Knowing at any minute.............

Actually what I loved about the orginal was the simplicity.. Rob got way too deep into the backstory of Michael Myers.. What had scared me so much about the orginal was that you really didn't know what set Michael Myers off.. I mean you could have assumed that it was because his sister was "sleeping around" but you really didn't know.. And yes the music was crazy scary.. Rob got to involved with the backstory.. I didn't mind it alittle bit the only problem I had with the orginal was when the parents came home in the very begininng and they pulled off the mask I didn't believe that it was Michael's parents.. They just stood there like they were crossing guards.. I didn't mind that backstory.. But IMO it was way too much

wow, Scout, just wait until the 'paparazzi' figures out that you've really been sleeping with Rob Zombie this whole time.
Don't even think for a second that Sheri doesn't know.

Scout, if you think the paparazzi is bad now, wait til they find out you've been sleeping with Rob Zombie the entire film.
You know Sheri knows too. She's not stupid.

This movie absolutly sucked, It had nothing to do with the original H2, It was way to violent and It I hated the shit outta the fact that you had Michael Myers, with a grizzly adams style beard and if you look closely you see him with contact lenses during a shot with w/o his mask on. Then Sherri Moon zombie shows up with a white unicorn and little Mike myers, who was played by another kid and not the ugly little mutant from the first movie while the adult form of Mike Myers is walking around with them trying to kill Lourie Stroud. The acting was ok but nothing that you'd consider fabulous. I thought Rbo Zombie's version of the first movie was good but I prefer John Carpenters version. My advice to Zombie, leave the classics alone and don't ruin it's credability.
