Adios, 'Idol' ... Abdul's Hosting 'Divas'

With her 'American Idol' judging career behind her, Paula Abdul has inked her first post-Simon gig.

Abdul will be hosting VH1's 'Divas' special, which will air on Sept. 17. The show will feature performances by superstars like Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis and others.

Abdul famously used Twitter to announce that she was leaving 'Idol,' dropping the bombshell before FOX or the show's producers could beat her to the punch.

A portion of proceeds from 'Divas' will benefit the Save The Music Foundation. For more info on 'Divas,' check out TheFabLife.

Paula is a dancer. She is a choreographer. She is not a host. Anyone who has watched the past few seasons of American Idol knows she has many issues with being able to use her brain and mouth in 120 seconds at the same time. Paula is unable to communicate in full sentences. I am not sure how she will do with a script. Idol should pay her to choreograph. Lord knows those contestants need it.

I really hope IDOL will lose alot of people that watched the show. I know with out Paul we will NEVER watch again. We will miss Simon but I think he should have fought for Paula........the other twits on there are just plain twits. I never heard of the one when the 4 judges were there and I will know much less now Paula will be gone. Do you people know how many surgeries Paula has had on her back. When you can say you have had back surgeries then you can say she seemed drumk at times...........I know how she feel......I have had many to .Simon why dont you go back to GB to be a judge instead of going back and forth........we love Paula and Simon and Ramdy why didnt you back her up also........Good bye to Idol........we are done watching when the ones have been there from day one gets put out to pasture.

i agree, i know paula had issues with stating facts as such on Idol, but for some reason I do not like that other woman, not sure why I just do not care for her, I have never missed a season of Idol but this will be the first time I dont watch and will not watch and vote again without Paula,

I think she's making a bad career move. From a top watched show, Idol, to a show that will last three tapings before its canceled. But i wish you the best Paula. It was nice to see you back in the spot light. And I'm sure you will be back on Idol as a cameo judge. But the show won't be the same without you. Peace...Bobby

I think the ads we see on AOL blogs are paying AOL to keep them there. By now AOL knows they are there and seems to not be doing anything about it. So someone is paying for the space.
