After being placed under psychiatric hold for a month, Mischa Barton is coming clean about her hospitalization. Blaming her hectic schedule and "terrible" wisdom tooth surgery, Barton says her life just got really bad, Time Out New York reports.
"I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed out just to feel better again. I got completely stressed out and couldn't handle everything, and now I feel really in control," Barton revealed.
"I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once," she said.
The 'Homecoming' star said before she started filming the CW show 'The Beautiful Life,' she had been traveling abroad "for contract stuff" and then had a wisdom tooth surgery that went wrong and is "still just healing."
"I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn't take those during work," she said of the procedure. "So it's been a nightmare."
Barton denies she had a mental breakdown but says the whole ordeal "was pretty bad." The 23-year-old actress admits, "I'm not sure I'm capable of a full-on nervous breakdown, but it was pretty bad. It didn't last that long. It was more about the pain."
"The funny thing is, if all this happened in New York, no one would care. New York lets you be who you are, and people aren't as judgmental. I'm so glad to be back here," she added.

I get the feeling Micha doesn't know anything about "rock bottom." If you had a nervous breakdown because of a busy work schedule and wisdom tooth surgery, that's fine. If you think that's the worst life has to offer, beware.
I love how celebrities seem like they are dying just because they are a little tired or depressed. Come on! 23 years old and having a nervous breakdown?? why not try and live in the real world and see how that is without all your money and privledges! see how "depressed" you would be then! and how come only celebrities get hospitalized for exhaustion?? I mean, how tiring can it be to act?? try having a normal, everyday job, go home and do all your housework and then cook dinner for your family every single day and then see how tired you are!! then on top of it, to blame your wisdom teeth?? are you joking?? take an Advil and quit your whining!!
Agree to a point, but these actors/actresses often work 12 hour days and have to repeat several scenes over and over until it's done just right. Think about doing a scene with a lot of screaming and running or crying...do that a few times for 12 hours and see just how tired you are!

She's a liar. I had two wisdom tooth pulled and used over the counter excedrin and it helped. Plus a little ambesol makes it feel better too. I guess you believed the National Enquirer story about the gorilla giving birth to a half human baby!!!

These celebrities are nothing aside from people that got lucky and admittedly, not everyone can act, but what makes that such a great talent? I think the hard working person that puts in 12 hours a day should be on TMZ, Popeater, etc.... WE are the real people of this country, what's left of it.

I only work as a grunt crew member and I can tell you the life is not cushy. Something you see on screen for a minute might have had an actor and crew in cold water for 12+ hours a day for days. The actors that demand unreasonable pampering are either unprofessional or insecure.
