My forehead was gouged and my arm had skin hanging off. I was in shock and didn't feel anything," Goldstein told PEOPLE.

I read the interview last year and admired his sobriety, however, I was worried that he may fall back into that lifestyle while dealing with the post tramatic stress of the airplane crash which killed 4 of his close friends. I wonder who will take care of his cat? He loved that cat so much!! R.I.P. very sad!

don't worry carol, his will was set up to have all his belonging's be inherted by his cat.
Goodnight Adam....You will be missed. :)

Sad is very true.....re-itterating all the other comments-"he was given a second chance at life after the plane crash and initially beating drugs 9 years earlier" Well my comment may not fly with a lot of you but he made his own choices and made his own bed. If he though he was invincible he is simply stupid.....I bet the surviving families of both pilots that unfortunately DID NOT survive that plane crash are relieved though. Now the two widows and kids of the pilots can go on and live a normal life without Goldstein's lawsuit over their head......Explain to me why these 2 widows were being sued by him again..... He is a rich celebrity and they not only lost their husbands but then are being sued of money they do not have and the kids would suffer in the long run...... Unbelieveable, the greed! I guess what goes around comes around!

You're just jealous because the last time you stepped behind a pair of decks, nobody gave you a moment's notice...
Does anybody here know for sure what happened to him everybody pre judging.People will write anything to get high ratings.Truth is we will wait and see what really happened. So quit throwing your 2 cents worth in until then!

why do so many talented artists lead tormented lives?

All these great artist and actors that die of OD's
are stpuid why not spend you money on something usefully instead of destoring a life. With enogh money that spent on drugs they could of donated the money to science to come up with a cure for something.

Usually, when an addict has been clean for about ten years it's time for them to do their inner child work-that is, confront and attempt to work through many of their unresolved repressed feelings from childhood. It's a shame because he was, probably, going through an anxiety and, instead of listening to it, respecting it, facing it and working through it, he let it control him. His pain was telling him something-that it's time to come back to himself and confont his feelings. He, just, didn't want to hear it.

Are you people that ignorant? Have you ever heard of the disease of addiction? Have you or do you know about PTSD? I feel for his friends and family.

I laugh at people that call addiction a disease. If the drug or the achohol did not exist, there would be no addiction. And for those of you who may call it a "social disease" then you've been listening to Dr. Phil to long. It's a choice to start and its a choice to quit. You do it because you want to. Nothing else.
Rob: I've learned to keep my opinion to myself unless I know what I'm talking about. I had the same high and mighty attitude as you until I personally experienced drug addiction. I never had a problem with drugs until I went to a Hollywood party and, like an idiot, I tried heroin. Now I know why people call it the devil. You will never understand the agony of physical addiction unless you've gone through it yourself. I went through hell trying to get off that drug but I finally did it. You shouldn't judge people unless you've walked in their shoes. Experiencing something firsthand will change your perspective drastically.
I am glad to hear someone understands addiction. I also never used drugs/alcohol until later and it became a serious problem. To all those people who judge you never know when it may hit you. I hope it never does.
Your the idiot & moron.

To everybody who says being a (good) DJ takes no talent: you are wrong, it is a skill that needs to be learned through practice just like anything in the entertainment world. Studies have shown it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become an "expert" in any field. Be it music, DJ'ing, topiary, whatever. And while I wouldn't exactly compare a DJ to say... Mozart. I feel I shouldn't need to take the time to explain to the peanut gallery how post modernism, deconstruction, etc. relate to not just DJ culture, but any modern art form. If it's not your cup of tea that's fine; but please don't insult the taste of others just because you don't understand something. Personally, I thought DJ AM was good but not great. More famous for who he knew than his skills behind the wheels of steel.

ROB Hey dumbass, saying addiction is no illness shows your education. In your perspective I guess if they quit selling sugar their would be no diabetics?
You are correct Nico! I DJ myself and it's such a shame that so many people think all it is is playing other people's records. It takes practice, as beat/key matching, knowing how to work a crowd and build up the energy, plus knowing your tracks is not easy. I'd love to see each and every one of these musically-challenged idiots sit behind a pair of decks for 5 minutes at a club and see how fast the dance floor clears out!!!
I just can't feel sorry for these people who know that drugs are horrific and what they will do yet they do start doing them anyway. This is very sad and now his friends and family are suffering because of his stupidity. Tragic
