Miley Cyrus: 'I'm Far From Perfect'

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus braved the rain in New York City Friday morning for a short, outdoor concert tied to an appearance on 'Today.' The singer strutted her stuff in a blazer and jeans - slightly more conservative than her controversial appearance at the recent Teen Choice Awards - singing a few tunes from her upcoming album and discussing the pressure on her to be perfect in the public eye.

"I'm not here to say I'm perfect 'cause I'm far from it," Cyrus said.

"My mistakes are kind of a little bit harder because they are in front of millions and millions of people," she added. "It's hard sometimes to smile about it, but it also makes you want to try harder the next time."

The pop star also discussed her album, being released Monday at Wal-Mart stores. "This album was a step towards my next album. I want to be able to step out and maybe take a break for a while and write music that inspires me," she said. "I think there's always a formula ... I think the best way to do that is put it out of the way and do something new."

You are so right. That little girl is in trouble. And Daddy isn't helping. Any 16 year old pole dancing is not someone I would want my preeteen girls to admire!

There was no pole dancing. There was a pole, and she was holding onto it...because the cart was moving. She knelt down a couple of times. That's it. If you saw this video and saw it as "pole dancing", you have more serious issues...like why are you sexualizing a 16 year old? That's like blaming a rape victim because she dressed like she was "asking for it". Get your mind out of the gutter.

I think Miley gets credit for going out and singing that song again, considering the fact that her other performance raised such controversy. She went all out, wearing appropriate clothing and dancing more modestly.

That is when most stars have trouble because they skip there childhood into adulthood.

I love it when people who probably have no experience with kids whatsoever try to tell other parents and their kids how to behave. That whole "you'll feel better of you do this" train of thought just about always means "I'LL feel better if you do this." Well, you're not me and I'm not you, and I'm not going to tell anyone how to live their life, and it's not your place to do it either.
What were you like at her age? I'll just take a chance here and bet you've done plenty of things yourselves that you've had to answer to someone for. now get off their cases and work on your own shortcomings.

I'm not sure if she is acting like a 16 year old or not, that can be hard to define these days. She has put herself out there in the media trying to be more of an adult than she really is. Maturity is the ability to make choices and take responsibility for those choices. By law she has a couple of years to go before she can make many of her own choices without looking to others to take the heat....i give it a month after she turns 18 before nudes of her or a sex tape will be available.
