I suppose they'll keep popping them out as long as people are willing to watch, television is willing to pay them, and her innards are still holding up.

Why doesn't this brooding mare take care of the kids she has instead of pawning them off to the older ones?. It is one thing to help with household duties as ALL children should contribute and learn these skills but this pig just wants to be pregnant and make money of it at the expense of her children and her dolt of a husband goes along with it. You want children then be responsible about it. Selfish and sick are the only words for Jim Bob and Michelle

enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!! they dress like outcasts off of little house on the prairie, and reproduce more than rabbits!! although thank GOD they are not on welfare, mrs. duggar is a woman..not a brood mare~!!! even breeders get some time off!!!!!! ridiculous!!!!!!!!

Like the world needs a family with 19 children.

Why do people think this is so cute? What if everyone had this many kids? The world is only so big and it is starting to feel pretty crowded. I don't think the Duggar children are getting the attention they need from their parents. Just assigning an older sibling to be a "buddy" isn't enough. I don't understand why this generation of parents is so obsessed with large families.

Did anyone notice that the oldest son kept referring to "training" the kids. These children are not puppies!

My issues with the Duggar family: the girls are not allowed to cut their hair so they all look like the mother, they walk around in ankle-length skirts and shirts that are identical, the boys all look like carbon copies of the father right down to the haircuts and clothing, they are all home- schooled. What about the socialization of these kids? What about teaching them how to handle themselves in a bad situation? Those kids will not know what to do. They have very little or no conception of what goes on outside their home environment. They are living in a bubble. Without the mother and father, would they be able to handle life in the real and sometimes ugly reality of the world? They may be well-traveled and have been to many places, but it's always with the "FAMILY". Where is their independence? As far as their financial situation goes, they have their reality show, some commercial properties that they own so they do OK as far as money is concerned. I'm not a fan and I don't watch the show and frankly, I think that 19 kids is a bit much. Yes, children are gifts from God and should be treasured and loved, but that doesn't mean that this family should try to populate the planet.

I think that people should mind their own business. I am from the Caribbean and my mother had 12 of us. Every one of us was educated and she was not rich. the problem with Americans is that they are too wasteful. they do not know how to use what they got.

I enjoy watching the Duggars, my only concern is the health of the mother, this must take a toll on her body. i wish them all well and look forward to hearing about the new grandchilds birth.

Not only is this show another disgusting entry in TLC's line up of "freak show TV" (TLC: we only make shows about medical oddities, little people & humans who give birth to litters like animals); but it is narrow minded religious zealotry masquerading as entertainment. They treat the women in the family like property that is owned by the men. I guess that explains why Mrs. Duggar is being used for breeding stock like a common barnyard animal. In most communities these people would be social pariah's, w/good reason. I hope Mrs. Duggar blows out her lady parts for good w/this one, so we don't have to suffer through #20.

The perfect name for" Number 19" is ENOUGH.....I guess Mr. Dugger hasn't met a condum he likes yet!! Mrs. Dugger runs the risk of death every time she gets pregnant. Maybe a new baby each year is part of their TV contract.

you know, with all do respect to this family, the fact is that the older children are having to watch and babysit the younger ones, which allows them to have free daycare, ( they are homeschooled), and this really isn't fair to the older children. they didn't ask for this and truthfully if you ask them, they probably don't like being treated as the free help. they didn't tell their parents to keep having children. there is a stopping point but obviously the parents aren't going to stop until something bad happens( God forbid), and i hope it doesn't, or the dr. is going to have to tell them point-blank. you know, i don't see how her body keeps allowing this anyway! leave poor octo-mom alone if you are going to keep supporting people like these.

I think after 8 kids you don't pay any taxes. I think her girls and the boys do most of the work. I think they would not have so many if she had to do all of the work herself.

Dorothy Thomas and other negativists, how can you wish failure, sadness, and misery upon another? If someone is happy as this couple is and they are not harming anyone, why would you want them to fail? Isn't adoption a choice? Since when must it be an obligation? When last did you adopt? And if you did, for how many did you take responsibility? If 1, why not 2? If 3, why not 4? I don't ask this to taunt you as I don't have kids either. But my position is a choice as theirs is. Who knows, when I start having kids I might desire to have many? But that too would be my choice. These people seem exemplary in that they have pursued and accomplished their dream. And it was mutual--something you rarely find in marriages today. You may not agree with the way they have chosen to live their lives but you seem to at least agree that they have done better at raising 18 than most people in the USA do raising 1 much less 2, 3, or 4. So that's something to celebrate. Lay emphasis on that point rather than on the negative. They have provided, 18 kids the unconditional love that today's child wants more than anything from his/her parents (21+ 19 + 19 + 18 + 16 + 15 + 14 + 13 + 11 + 10 + 10 + 9 + 8 + 6 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 0.75) x 365 times. That's an aggregate equivalent of 200 years, or nearly 73000 days, or 1.7 million hours, or 105 million minutes, or 6.3 billion seconds of love! Now, that's a lot of love! Don't you agree? Do not hate or taunt them because they credit what they consider a fortune to God. That's their right and they have no obligation to heed your wishes or live according to your way any more than you do to theirs. Afterall, they never said to you, “Dorothy Thomas, the way we live is the way you must live.” The moment their way of life hurts someone, please be the first to scream at the top of your lungs on the mountaintop so we can all know something has gone awry. But until then this couple and their 18 soon to be 19 seem to be setting an example at least for those who value family, parenthood, a quiet, simple, committed, supportive, non-materialistic, happy lifestyle. This, by the way, is much better for the earth than the way most of us live today. I'm not sure why krehelbangor so passionately defends the couple, but I believe her/his compass is better guided than those of the detractors on this comment board.
