Jon Gosselin Says He Took 'a Lot of Abuse' From Kate

Jon Gosselin has finally gotten his day to talk about his marriage.

The father on 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' revealed his side of the divorce on 'Good Morning America,' stating that he suffered "a lot of abuse" at her hands. "She'll call me like, almost like a lame fish. Like I wasn't going anywhere," he said.

Gosselin claims he was left at home with the twins and sextuplets all the time while she traveled for work.

"Well, excuse me, I'm taking care of the kids. She's on book tours, she's doing all these things. You know, she's gone a week. You know, comes back. Unpacks, repacks, does laundry, packs up and leaves again. I'm standing there like, 'Oh, OK. Your mom's gone.'"

Kate recently appeared on 'Larry King Live' and expressed some criticisms of her estranged husband, but did admit that he was a good father.

She also spoke with PEOPLE magazine, telling them, "Sometimes I feel like it's a 15-year-old I'm getting a divorce from."

You are right LOL! I just had to laugh... and respond...

Most of us were suckered into the Gosselins' family life by watching the antics of the six adorable babies-3 girls and 3 boys-I especially remember their Dad Jon round robin feeding then all an oatmeal breakfast from the same bowl before he went off to work, Mom Kate slaving away preparing wholesome home-cooked meals and scrubbing floors on her hands and knees, Jon working a job yet caring for the children and remodeling the family home + odd jobs in his "spare" time, the twins (Cara and Maddy) somewhat edged out of it all... you really had to be there.

Now, it seems that the monumental effort put forth by both parents to make it work has somehow been in vain although I know they were dog tired--I remember one episode when Kate talked about how much coffee she and Jon drank to keep up with it all--that was a red flag for me.

It has been reported by those who know the family that Kate refused much of the willing helpers for whatever reason...what was she trying to prove?

The Gosselins need the love and support of a small army of friends and loved ones...where are those people...only a few friends and not even a handful of family members seem to be involved in their lives---there is the reason viewers got so attached...a struggling family with eight minor children virtually going it alone is disintegrating...

When I first started watching the show, I enjoyed it, but Kate drove me nuts and it was easy to blame her for everything. But as more time went on, I realized it was Jon, and his whiny, wimpy self that was equally as annoying. Someone had to earn the money and take charge. With eight kids the expenses are just going to grow with them. She needed to back off and he needed to grow a pair. It's a pathetic shame for the kids. Kids in "show business" always complain about how difficult it is to deal with. It just makes you wonder how bad it will be for these kids, and having divorced, arguing parents isn't going to help them.

Jon was never the BREAD WINNER in that family. After Kate recuperated somewhat from the sextuplet's birth, she returned to work. she worked two days a week. BUT< those two days, she did a double shift. She made a good living. That TROLL was at work all day, playing around on the inter-net. He was fired from a couple of jobs. He still couldn't hold down a regular job.

During one episode of last year's show he called his home "MY CRIB". He is such a loser/troll. Kate is brilliant. She will always be able to support her children...She has drive, ambition, talent, and STICK-TO-ITIVENESS. After all she survived being married to that little jerk for quite a few years.

i agree with the ladies on this one. jon should have beaten her a$$ whenever she talked back to him or got out of line. he needed to put kate in her place where women belong. and what a pathetic loser he is. real men have been saying for years that taking care of the kids isn't a job. right ladies? this guy had it easy being home with 8 rug rats while she was slaving away on the publicity circuit. what a loser indeed.

It seems you all like to take sides. But here's the question: Why didn't Jon & Kate get to know each other much better before they married? That just might have solved a lot of problems. But many times, when you truly realize how bads things are, you've already had kids and don't want to throw out the marriage in protection of them. This leads to putting up with an annoying spouse for many years. You see, we all make mistakes...and suffer for them...and hopefully learn from them. Let them deal with it.

Kate knew what she was getting into when she met him. He didn't work and immediately went out and got fertility treatments. Not once but twice, and at a very young age.I think she did it on purpose hoping to hit the baby lotto and did.Jon did a job and got fired according to his old boss because he stayed on the computer trying to find freebies for the unborn sextuplits. The final straw Jon's boss said was when Kate came in screaming and cussing at Jon because his dad hadn't brought her lunch. The real losers are the kids because their mom is a fame whore and their dad was forced it seems into something he wasn't ready for. Kate isn't a strong woman, she's just a simple old fashion bully who needs to crawl in a hole and die.

Why is is when he tries to finally tell his side of living with the witch everyone jumps on im and says he's a wimp and not a good father? Your a wimp if you tell your side of what you went through? Anyone who breaks up or divorces will tell their side to who ever will listen and say how awful the ex was and how he did this or that or didn't do this and that and will say the bad things they went through BUT when jon speaks up he's a wimp? ok. well if kate says anything nice about jon it's because she is trying to turn viewers to her side and tlc told her to do this to make her look like the person taking the high road and to keep people watching. If she treated him like a child on tv and belitted him what was behind the scenes like, yikes! I'm on jon side.

Why is everyone quick to blame Jon? As for cheating Kate told him she was done and he could do what he wanted.she was having an affair with the bodygaurd herself.She is the one who went and filed for a divorce, so that put him right back on the market. He had alreay been staying with the plastic surgeon who fixed Kate's nasty belly [for free] for a year. Before she married Jon he wasn't doing anything but enjoying a bohemian lifestyle. He was also seeing someone else and went out of her way to break them up because she wanted him for herself. Kate has no one but herself to blame for her miserable life.

My husband travels for weeks at a time and I am at home with my children. I have my kids, the house, 2 dogs, and my own career to deal with while he's gone. I cannot believe that Jon is actually complaining about taking care of his own children and acting like it's unfair. There are responsiblities in life that may not be fun 100% of the time, but we all have to do what is right. He's not going to get my sympathy, that's for sure!

So sorry Jon. Sorry it wasn't you they wanted to hear at speaking events and read their book. BOOHOO! You had to stay home and take care of YOUR kids. That's what the rest of us stay-at-home mom and dads do EVERY DAY! Most times when fertility treatments are used, the chance of multiples id HIGH, or didn't you realize that when you had twins the first time?

Yeah, staying home and taking care of the kids is tough, huh? If only Kate knew how that felt... Oh wait, she does, since she did that for years. If you want to call it "abuse," go ahead... meanwhile, we'll call those college girls he's sleeping with his "therapists."

Everyone keeps saying boo!hoo!hoo! poor Jon because he said he took alot of abuse from Kate. And that he was a whimp for taking it. That's exactly why men fail to report spousal abuse because of retards like you. Alot of men are abused every year from their wives and because most men are raised not to raise a hand to a woman they take it. Mental abuse is worse than actually getting hit because it breaks your spirit. Less than a year ago a man went to court wher I'm from to get a restraing order from his wife for abuse. The judge told him no because the laws were to protect the women not the men. Needless to say it caused a big stink and he is no longer a judge and was disbarred. To those defending Kate, you must be some sorry people who have no souls, because Kate sure don't.

So he was left behind when she traveled - so are many women who choose to be SAHMs and men who choose to be SAHDs. Boo hoo. That is NOT abuse - if it were, then much of Corporate America is full of abusers. As for what she said to him, I've seen the way he acts. With that many kids, you have to be pretty organized and from what I've seen - he just doesn't care. He'd rather go out on the town with galpals. I hope he catches something. When those kids are grown and they look back on all this, they are not going to say he was abused because she told him what to do (because he acted like he didn't know what to do), and didn't take him with her. All they are going to say is that my daddy went off with other women.

Jon, REAL MEN face their commitments and stay with them.

POOR POOR JON HE IS SUCH AN ASS ID CALL HIM NAMES TWO.. MAYBE IF HE WOULD STEP UP AND STOP MESSING AROUND WITH ALL THE YOUNG GIRLS AND TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY. PEOPLE MIGHT LIKE HIM. They make $75,000 an episode. Why did Kate need "extra money" on speaking engagements and book tours? I think it was a reason to spend time with her bodyguard.
