After Much Thought, LeAnn Announces She'll Divorce Husband

Not that it comes as much of a surprise, but LeAnn Rimes has gone ahead and made it official: she and her husband of seven years are getting d-i-v-o-r-c-e-d.

"After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane [Sheremet] and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage," she told fans on her Web site. "This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another."

"Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support -- it is deeply appreciated."

Rimes, 27, and Sheremet, 28, tied the knot in 2002. Their split came just as Rimes struck up a romance with her 'Northern Lights' (TV movie) co-star Eddie Cibrian. The pair have since emerged as a public couple.

Dee, not so fast there. The number of divorced fathers, who are raising their children alone is on the rise and has been for sometime now. I know, I have been one now for the past 11 years. I've been married twice and both wifes cheated, and I swear, I haven't cheated on either of them. I think it was said, that before long, that there would be 4 women to 1 man.

It said she cheated on her husband OF seven years...not FOR seven years. If you read the article it says they were married in 2002...add that up and you get seven. I do agree with what she did or has done, but I just wanted to clear that up......

Because Dean is gay. It's been a well known fact that he married his "best friend". She was young and naive and he may have been in need of some stability, but why not just be yourself. I blame them both for this sham of a marriage. She's a cheater and he's a liar. I wonder what they'll put on the divorce papers...Irreconsilable Differences?" Like she's straight and he's gay? Seven years is an awful long time to rethink the whole marriage thing. I can't feel sorry for either of them.
