Makes me sort of sick to my stomach. First he kicks a drug habbit for 9 years, then tries suicide once & fails, survives a horrific plane crash only to possibly commit suicide? How sad. My heart goes out to his family & friends. A parent should NEVER have to bury their child. May your soul find some kind of peace, Adam.

I was diagnosed with a rare and agressive form of cancer 3 weeks after celebrating 1 year of clean and sober time... That was 3 years ago.... Never ONCE did I ever attempt to get loaded to mask the pain both mentally, physically and emotionally that I was going thru....I didnt want to die...9 yrs of sobriety is a long time...just re-enforces to me that anyone is susceptible to relapse....anyone...
My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Adam... This is a trajedy...truth is it happens every minute of every day....

Hey MJR, why don't you take a close look at GC's comment. Unless you know what it's like to live in the depths of depression, shut your pie hole. I've lived with clinical depression for the past 9 years of my life. I'm not as bad as I used to be, because I know how it feels to not want to live. Not want to have to get out of bed evey single morning & plaster a fake smile on my face & tell everyone everything was all right. I was lucky enough to have a very close friend recognize the signs & helped me get the psychological help I needed. Rip on me all you want, but until you know how it feels, just keep your rude ass comments to yourself, please.

it is a selfish act but a cowardly act no i dont think so. it is one of the hardest things to do (take your own life) and im sure he thought about it for a long time and know one reaached out and gave him help. some people cant ask for help but friends and relatives should be able to recognize the signs and call him out on them.

Unless you've ever suffered from deep depression, you don't know how it feels to be spiraling downward without any hope or sense of relief. You just want to stop hurting (no matter what the cause, perceived or real) and suicide seems like a way to end the pain. Don't judge less you be judged.

There is no woman worth klling yourself over . We may NEVER know the truth about why he did what he did but it's sad because if he had just talk with a family member or a close friend , maybe they could have said something to give him hope . Instead he made his family cry just a little harder wondering why this person we loved , took a cowards way out . I hope he made peace with God and allowed him into his heart before he closed his eyes for the last time . Just a shame !!!! Peace!

Hey Carmine, don't judge until you or someone you know find yourselves in that situation. Suicide may be selfish, but cowardly NO. It takes a LOT to even take that final step. I lost someone to it and He was NO COWARD.

Yes suicide is a selfish asct but no I do not think a coward could complete it. I just lost my father a week ago to suicide, he took a bottle of vikoden and then hung himself. That takes some kind of courage to do that. The people who commit suicide have no idea what kind of mess they leave behind for there families or the amount of destruction it also causes. Until you can walk a mile in their shoes you should not be speculating about why they did it. Depression is a mental illness and unfortuantly a very over looked one. I am praying for the members of DJ AM's family and all of his friends.

very sad..but remember he chose this route. No one realizes what suicide can do to the people close to them. Always blaming themselves forever. Selfish? yes. But also he must have been unable to come out of the depths of depression.

They are time released of course.. but considering their were 8 down already im sure that was enough time for some of the medicine from ALL 8 of em mind you, to enter the system.

It said that the 8 pills were undigested. That means its probably not what killed him. It means that he probably either died from the crack he may have been smoking or from whatever else he had already taken. The autopsy and toxicology reports are not in yet, so we have yet to hear what his actual cause of death is.

I totally agree with u Sharon, in fact i was thinking the same thing. How could it be a suicide, when the pills were not digested?? Something to think about.

What dedication and years of practice it must of took to learn and play the record player. Though his death is unfortunate, the media would have you believe the world just lost a musical prodigy. Rappers and DJs are constantly refered to as musicians by the media. The people that write these articles should stick to a subject that they are familar with, like nothing at all!

You are obviously talking out of your ass. Why people like you just HAVE to speak about things you THINK you know everything about just baffles me. DJing IS an art. It is NOT just "playing a record player." Most successful DJs produce and write their own music, but beyond that, DJing involves choosing the right tracks to start the night and end it in a progression to keep the crowd moving and the vibe alive, and the key is called BEAT MATCHING. Look it up. Read something. There are great DJs (who know how to mix samples and tracks to make new sounds) and there are mediocre DJs (that yes, will simply just play one song after another). I DJ myself and have plenty of experience in the field and it makes me sick to read crap from so called "know it alls" like you who can't feel good about themselves without putting other things down.

I'd also like to add that there are some superstar DJs who bring 50,000 people to a STADIUM SETTING to see and dance to their acts. I'd like to see you sit behind a pair of decks for 5 minutes at a small club and see how fast people clear the floor!
