I have to wonder if this happened as a result of his plane wreck. It was my understanding he had some severe injuires including burns. He hadn't had a drink or done any drugs in just over 9 years. Which makes me wonder was he suffering from chronic pain, PTSD, or another medical problem that resulted from the plane crash? I just hope people work on being a bit more respectful. He is not hear to defend himself and his family and loved ones should not be subjected to cruel comments. They have been through enough!

Typical egoistic suicide; a man becomes geographically isolated which creats feelings of isolation. The difference with this situation he had many around him but he had single strand friends which in turn caused him to feel isolated even while being surrounded by many individuals. From a sociologist stand point seeing the underlining connections he had with society and without seeking help, this incident was inevitable. I urge people to seek help before they make drastic decisions that are irreversible.

wl944s is absolutely correct. I have been playing the piano, and composing my own music as well, for 20+ years. However, I learned to play the 'record player' when I was 10 years old in 10 minutes. Maybe if I smoked 'crack' all the time I would stick to playing the record player instead of the piano..

Wow, you learned how to use a mixer and a set of turntables at 10 years old in 10 minutes, huh? Then where are you on the top DJs list making millions? You must be an unknown PRODIGY! What are you doing sitting on your ass here? lol
I am sad for him. He achieved more than many, yet never found happiness.
Who are his "family" (parents/siblings?) Was he estranged from them?
These drugs are taking a serious toll on the U.S. population. If you've got kids, even young one's be alert.
Drug dealers are now making the drugs look harmless by making them look like Sweet Tarts, those sugary straws, lolipops. Once anyone is addicted, the chances of them staying off the stuff is slim.
This is sad. There are people with eating addictions, alcohol addictions, drug addictions, sex addictions. This can happen to anyone so careful what you say.
Oh, I'm a conservative who has never done drugs, and rarely drink. I just have a heart.

you gotta love it when bloggers stroke each other. In some world's it's known as a hand-job. Here it's passed off as intelligence. And just a quick question... when is the DJ awards show???????
Reply
Kudos...great observation of the obvious, yet unspoken stupidity. Thank you.
Not sure if that was supposed to be funny, but there actually is a top 100 DJ awards put on by DJ Mag, and most of it is still underground as that's where the scene that understands true DJ talent seems to currently reside.
DAVID......................He died less than a week ago. This is the first news of the autopsy. Geesh!

What a waste of a precious life...drugs will do it every time...when you play with fire, you will get burned....I hate to see people rise to the top of their careers and then not know how to enjoy it the right way!!

To Hugh and anyone else quick to judge or condemn. we never know what life has around the corner for any of us. having been so heartbroken over a breakup to consider taking my own life I can say i know where he was to be in such a dark place.maybe he hung on for as long as he could and just saw no light at the end of his tunnel. in any case I hope he finds some peace now and the Big man upstairs forgives.

He may have had a sugically altered stomach, but he had a chemically altered brain...just another dope head gone...

I think that's really heartless to say just another "dope head". You can't understand what it's like if you've or a loved one has never experienced it.
Mike,
You are a musician. Just because you haven't made it to the big time, doesn't mean you won't. I wouldn't count on it, as it does seem that many extremely untalented individuals have made it, while others don't.
The death of DJ is a shame, as he was a person whom you and others clearly envy. Don't forget, he was a human being.

Why do you dummies think anyone would have any interest in what some D.J. from NY does or doesn't do?

Clearly you must care enough to comment, idiot.
I hope wherever he is, he at least has some peace since he clearly couldn't pull himself out of the depths of depression.
Some of the comments I'm reading here are just sickening. I bet some of you also have the nerve to call yourselves decent Christians too. You're anything but. Sickening, demented people. Get off the computer and go learn some compassion, would you?

Well,it's not always apparent that the person is suicidal. My husband had just ordered new glasses, had a tooth filled and volunteered at the library to teach people to read the week before he committed suicide. You THINK you know the person. You THINK you would know if they were suicidal. Believe me, sometimes you DON'T know.

Its always a tragedy to lose a person who tried to overcome their issues and in the end loses their battle. Never judge someone elses life unless yours is open to scrutinize. You never want to walk in someone elses shoes.
