Houston Has a Problem at Park Show

Go ahead and call it a comeback, but Whitney Houston was the first to admit her voice wasn't 100% during her big performance on 'Good Morning America' on Tuesday.

The crackly-voiced singer, whose new album 'I Look to You' dropped this week, apologized to the 5,000-plus person crowd in New York City's Central Park for maybe pushing her still-better-than-99%-of-other-singers voice beyond its limits, and even tied her excuse to a familiar celebrity.

"I'm so sorry. I did 'Oprah.' I've been talking for so long. ... I talked so much, my voice," she said, right before launching into 'I'm Every Woman.'

"I shouldn't be talking. I should be singing."

Houston also performed 'I'm Every Woman,' 'I Look to You,' 'My Love Is Your Love' and her new song 'Million Dollar Bill' at the park concert.

Whitney is the best singer of all times!!!! Not to many singers can touch her range. She has been all around the world promoting her cd. I would be damn tired too!! I say this.... Whitney can still belt out any of her number one hits. This Icon has been through alot and is still rehabilitating. Fans will lift her up and haters will try to bring her down!! WHITNEY YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!! The CD is great...From one of your fans since 1988

There comes a time that people need to know when it is time to quit and be in the sidelines. I think that this is her time. She has no one to blame but herself for her lack of voice/talent at this time. Sould be a good example for the younger generation just what drugs, booze and self abuse will do to you. She had a great gift that she ruined. Pay the price...quit and try to be a good parent to your child.

Whitney Houston was my favorite singer back in the 80's. I am glad she is making a comeback. I watched her this morning on GMA and was disappointed. She seemed to be trying to sing like Tina Turner! She has a great voice and needs to get back to her old style instead of trying to re-invent herself. She has had a lot of personal problems, but she CAN be on top again only if she sings like the old Whitney.

She's TERRIBLE! She sounds awful / out of shape! And her new studio songs aren't any better. It's one thing to sound bad live but on a studio version... LOL! The only way she's NOT DONE career wise is if the whitney supporters overlook the awful-ness of this album. This performance ranks up there (in bad-ness) with Britney's Gimme More comeback performance! lol

And have any you seen her doing crack as of late? I mean, are you so close to Ms. Houston that you can honestly say THAT YOU KNOW she's still on the pipe? Everyone has a right to their opinions, but some of these are just ridiculous. Someone posted: "Once a crackhead always a crackhead". Bottom line is that people can change. That's why you have TV shows like "Intervention". Families that are intervening in their loved one's lives so that he/she can CHANGE. People who are trying to make an effort to get away from a destructive lifestyle need our support...not to be constantly reminded of who they once were and what they did.

I wish some of the people that are so quick to judge her voice would try getting up on stage and sing live after a 7 year hiatus! My musical tastes have traveled a different direction since I listened to her back in the 80's but considering she's heading to 50 and she's made some bad choices in her life (as we all have), cut her some slack. I could never get up on stage and sing like that. God bless and Good Luck Whitney!

I am glad God has given Whitney an opportunity to make changes in her life. He will restore her voice if she continues to look to him. Let's continue to pray for her. Sometimes, even the best of us can falter and fall. Who are we to judge? We are not perfect. Be happy for her.

I hate to say this folks.....especially because I'm a singer too.....but Whitney's voice is shot.....and I think irreprably so. I'm not a singer of the pre-drugs Whitney caliber....she was untouchable....a class of vocal ability unto herself, but I do know what a singer needs to keep her voice quality clean and whitney's lost it. At least the Whitney "sound" we use to know....what a total waste of pure god given talent....I hate that shank of an ex-husband what's his name Brown for what he contributed to her life and vocal demise.....He ruined a rare beauty and gem.....I wish her happiness, health and peace~~~~~

I live in Fla and have been a Whitney fan all of her career...I know her mother also from Edgewater NJ in the nail salon and THANK YOU THANK YOU Sissy for helping your daughter she deserves a second chance...Her voice is one of the greatest in the world and I mean the world she and Michael are my all time favorite long live the Queen!!!
