The traditional service was held at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles. Those on hand to mourn the celebrity disc jockey, who died last Friday, were his former collaborator Travis Barker and Hayley Wood, the woman he was said to have been heartbroken over.

Why do we care about this? It's just another wannabe loser jig a boo who thought he had some kind of talent. It was nice to see all his mourners show up in t-shirts and jeans. What a bunch of losers.

It does matter what you wear to certain events. Would you dress that way for a wedding? It seems like today people think they can do whatever they want as long as they are happy. It doesn't work that way. If you can't muster up that tiny bit of respect, no wonder our country is the way it is.

Everyone is talking about how everyone was dressed, coming from a drug addict myself, I don't do drugs anymore, I have been clean for 3 years from doing crack and drinking. What drugs does to you is depression leads on after the drug use, he did have depression, a year ago I wanted to take my own life, I felt like no one cared, I downed myself 375 aspirins and was in ICU for 3 days.
What happen with DJ AM we do not know, we will never know because he successful on taking his own life.
What I have heard about so far about who cares who was there, why they were dressed this way.
If it was my funeral I would like people to dress the way they would want to, this is the way I think he would have wanted people to dress. Go ahead and say what you would like to say about what I have just commented about.
But out of due respect, it's not yours to talk about in this kind of way.

i think as long as your body and clothes are clean, and no body parts hanging out, its ok. everybody dont have 3 piece suits to wear. u dont have to be dressed up to show respect for the dead. funerals are not for the dead, its for the living. u cant compare the people at mj's funeral to this man, mj's people may have been a tad better off yet it wouldnt have mattered. some of u are concerned about the wrong things in life.

I can see from the pictures that all his loser friends broke out their best sneakers and baseball caps for the funeral. Way to go, some respect...they will forget about him in 3 hours and onto the next person.

He relapsed after the plane crash last year. Not hard to imagine why. He said himself that when the plane crashed he was asleep. He heard one of his friends screaming, but he freaked and ran away. It is not uncommon for people to have survivors syndrom, and to relieve the pain he turned back to drug, but the drugs he got from the Dr. after the plane crash might have been the start of it. Friends of Travis need to remember this and be there for him. We also need to be there for our friend, co-workers ect. who go through horific life experiances.

It is so sad that the PERMANENT solution to a TEMPORARY problem was chosen. You can change your way of life and how you live and think BUT you cannot change your choice to choose DEATH. I feel sorry DJ couldn't feel this before he fell into the trap of bad choice. RIP

Whats with all the shaved heads on these guys, are they all going bald so they went ahead and shaved all their hair off? Or are they undergoing chemo? That look is so goofy it makes guys look likr little boys with their little ball caps on, just like a little leave it to beaver. Grown men trying to look like little boys.

Actually there is a dress code for funerals. It's called Sunday best or nicer than you would wear on an average day. It is out of respect for the church, synagogues, temples etc. that you will be attending. It does not mean that you have to dress out of character of yourself. If you do not wear suits, (as a man) than something like a nice button down shirt and nice pants and shoes would work. The churches etc. have become more lenient in what people wear nowadays. I do not see that much wrong with what the people wore to this funeral, with the exception of the printed tees. That was a little tacky. But come on, even Travis Barker wore a suit. He kept in style with himself and not the traditional suit, and it was nice. If they can dress up for the red carpet, why can't they do that for funerals? The most important thing about this situation is the unnecessary death of someone who was obviously troubled. This should be a good example to keep an eye out for someone you may know who is having problems. I wouldn't say he waisted his life, but more so contributed to the lives of everyone he touched even for the short time he was with them. The music world will forever change because of this man. Even if you do not like the style music he made. Everyone is a contributor to where we once were to where we are going. Remember that. We live and learn (hopefully) from the mistakes and accidents of others. If more people would look for the positive in any situation we would be so much better off, and happier.

What a shame 1 less jew pig spewing vile bile from his jew lips....We have BIGGER PROBLEMS
"Today in the United States, immigrants are pouring in at 2.3 million annually--both legal and illegal--our nation shudders from San Francisco to New York and from Chicago to Miami. We rose from 200 million to nearly 300 million in three decades. What was once a benefit to our country is now a full-scale overpopulation and societal crisis. Our English language is under assault and our schools are drowning in ethnic violence, rapes, drugs and gang warfare. In California, Texas, Florida and Arizona, our hospitals suffer bankruptcies from non-paid services for 350,000 annual 'anchor babies'. Ten million illegal immigrants displace jobs from America's working poor and depress wages for many others. Leprosy, tuberculosis, Chagas Disease, hepatitis and other diseases 'pour' into our country within the bodies of illegal immigrants who avoid health screening before coming on board the United States. I think any death is sad no matter who it is or what kind of lifestyle they led. Perhaps those gentlemen wearing black t-shirts, jeans and Nike's, DJ AM's signature sneaker, were honoring their friend. Just like the pallbearers at Billy May's funeral, they all wore his signature denim shirt with his logo on it, or when police officers die, fellow officers wear their uniforms. It's too bad that when people die we can't just let them rest in peace and have respect for those who mourn them.
