Colin Firth has lashed out against plastic surgery and Botox injections, calling the procedures "a disaster" for actors, whose faces he says are "supposed to move."
"Injecting something into your face so it's paralyzed, or cutting bits of it up so that you take any signs of life out of it is catastrophic if you're going to express yourself in any way at all," the 48-year-old 'Bridget Jones' actor told BBC.
Botox temporarily paralyzes muscles in the face, which makes some facial expressions impossible. Firth criticized this inability to express emotion, comparing an actor's face to an instrument. "Why on earth would you take a violin and make the strings so they don't vibrate?"
Surprisingly, Firth is still open to the idea of altering his looks via surgery. He confessed that he would "do it tomorrow if I thought it would look good -- but I haven't seen anything I think really works that well."
Bruce Jenner (pictured with wife Kris) gave himself quite the present for his upcoming 60th birthday: a new face. "He corrected work that was done 25 years ago that he wasn't happy with," says his stepdaughter Kim Kardashian.

"My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing. I had a hernia, this huge bump next to my bellybutton. As a result, I couldn't wear a bikini. I lost a lot of work," Tara Reid said of her botched plastic surgery.

"I saw a picture of myself and thought, 'Uh-oh.' You have to be careful. I'm a perfect example of that! There are many things you can do to make yourself look better," Lisa Rinna says of her plastic surgery.
Colin you do not need any type of cosmetic surgery at all. You look good just as you are. If you do have surgery I would gladly come in and hold you hands.
Colin Firth is forever Mr. Darcy. He is already perfect and needs no surgery to improve his looks. I would love to meet him. Some of his first films were bad, like Valmont, but he redeemed himself with Pride and Prejudice.
most people don't know that when you get botox,it's really a poison that freezes your nerves to prevent aging (and movement).By the way,if the doctor screws it up even in the tiniest way,you could DIE.
Many people also don't know that Botox is often used for medical treatment of certain health conditions, such as eyelid spasms, neck muscle spasms, and crossed eyes, among others.
Colin is right about Actors needing to move their faces I agree. It looks weird to see these women acting and they don't display visually their corresponding emotion. However also, it is easy for men to opt not for surgery because they actually look great being old. Women do not normally age well so many want to fix the tired look on their face.
Most well know people seems like they can't except the way they look. That is a pity because once they have surgery or have Botox shots they usually look a lot worst than they did before. It is vanity that causes them to do this. I imagine most well know are very vain. There are very few who do except where they are and who they are. I say good for them. I am a elder person and am blessed my God to have not any wrinkles as yet. Many people my age are blessed in that way. Some are not, many younger than me are a older for some unknown reason because of wrinkles. But for me I thank God for the blessing he gives me. One day it may not be that way but whatever happens I will except what my Lords allows.
I totally agree with you. I thought the after pics of the "stars" were worse than the before. I don't look like I did in my 20's and I am not supposed to!! It's wise to remember that God doesn't make ugly people. People just choose to act ugly.
Bruce Jenner was a handsome guy before he got Hollywood'd Up. He now looks more like a woman. I know he had surgery again, still looks the same. Somebody tell this poor guy.
I'm 42 I take omega-3 2x a day, vitamin e for my skin, and acidopholis probotics found in yogurt in gel caps or capsule form only. I started taking these vitamins when I turned 40 and was experiencing dry skin. It has done wonders when you do this religiously. It is worth to get glowing skin.
Why do you all seem to think that we can judge people the way we do? Maybe if the judgment would stop...then all the sad and pathetic things "we" do to ourselves would stop too. But, if I was making a living based solely on my looks, and society stopped paying to see me...and then someone ELSE told me they could fix it...I'd do whatever they said. Sad, yes. Reality, yes. I guess that is why I never even considered going into a job where how one looks is SO important.
GenFX is a crock of Lies - there's no such thing about anti-aging cream - my advice - save your pennies & get enough sleep, drink plenty of fluids and quit smoking.
What? Was he just using NLP and trying to convert cosmetic surgery skeptics? First he starts off by saying "Why on earth would you take a violin and make the strings so they don't vibrate?", which is an intelligent question but then he ends by saying "do it tomorrow if I thought it would look good". He just answered his own question or rather popeater set this article up as a celebrity endorsement of cosmetic surgery. People do it because they think it will look good but it doesnt it looks absolutely gross. It looks like Colin had his forehead smoothed. Which on a man isnt too noticeable but these women walking around with their gross faces and tire tube lips disgust me. This article takes you from being a skeptic like me and creates a "maybe" or a future consideration. How dead do you have to be inside to consider cosmetic surgery? Ladies stop thinking with your twat and use your mind.
