Wishing the brilliant Garrison Keillor well, but at the same time must note that below his story are the questions "Is Jon Gosselin helping or hurting himself by his behavior" and "Which is your favorite Kardashian sister?" I'm afraid that when Garrison gets better, he'll just want to kill himself...

I've been listening to Prairie Home Companion as often as possible for as long as my NPR station has been carrying it (since about 1977 or '78). I don't know what I'd do with my Saturday evenings without Garrison & the crew! Somebody pass that man a healing slice of Be-bop-a-re-bop Rhubarb Pie; may he live & be funny (& have great taste in musical guests)practically forever.

The stroke is retribution for all the times he degraded women with sexist comments about their breasts and asses! I know a former staffer who told me is is a pig to women. Hope he gets better, but maybe this is a lesson to him

Sweet corn describes not only his favorite food, but the beloved nature of his show.
Git all better soon, Garri, the Life of the Cowboys depends on you. Dusty.

Garrison is unpretentious. If he openly and vocally observes, appraises and admires the beauty of the human female, it is because he is all male. Is that sexism? Then most of us males are sexists, at least to that extent.

Without a doubt, one of the worst movies I've ever made myself sit through. If you have never seen it, don't bother. It stinks. However, sorry to hear of this guys stroke...who ever he is?

Are you a fan of his radio show? I loved the movie just for that reason alone...because I love his radio show and him. It made me feel like I was allowed behind the scenes of the show. He is a sweet, dear man.
Garrison Keillor my thoughts are with you for a complete and speedy recovery.
The reason I even opened this e mail is wishful thinking that Lard ass Limbaugh had been reduced to a sniveling pile of spit rolling out of the side of his mouth but not. I will indeed keep hopeful for both of these situations

I agree completely . I was also hoping against hope that it was Limberger. These headlines are such a tease.
Get well Garrison !!
How obsurd, she can't dance or sing! Get Posh on there!

Not that I wish the gentleman any ill, but I'm sure this lefty feels fortunate that he can get proper and immediate treatment for his unfortunate stroke at nothing less than the Mayo Clinic, probably the best in the country. If we end up with socialized health care in this country, as I imagine he hopes we will, what options will he have? Months-long waiting lines for critical treatment? Government bureaucrats decreeing him too old for life-sustaining care? Other nations that have followed this "road to hell" boast precisely those results -- you can look it up. Ok, I've said my words; you libs can all resume your name-calling.

UNDER THE OBAMA HEALTH PLAN KEILLOR WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN A PILL AND SENT HOME TO DIE-------

I love your show and listen to it often. It reminds me of my home in Minnesota and the way life rolls on there. I have lived in Seattle for almost 30 yrs now but can always go home while listening to your show. It gives me many giggles and lots of laughter.
I know you are in good hands at Mayo. The best to you always.

It is absolutely wonderful to read comments on the Internet which are pleasant and show truthful appreciation for an individual! The ignorant trash talk I have read relative to other news items over the years have discouraged me from noting their meaning. We have Mr. Keillor's column periodically appearing in our local newspaper. With so many people praising him and commenting on how he "makes their day more pleasant", I will read every one in the future, and to Mr. Keillor, I wish you a successful recovery and a long life.

Sorry to hear that , Garrison's a class guy. Hope he recovers fully . I wish U well.
Too bad it wasn't that dope Rush Limbaugh. Now thats a guy who DESERVES to be stroked out!!!!!
Too bad it happened to the good guy rather than the guy that spews untrue poison that will eventually erode and ruin this great country.
