You're a rascist jerk. What bad can come of it? In dog terms as you're using, German Shephards may be great, but you're just going to pass up that Mutt because of his parents? What does it matter if he's not a "purebred"?
I find it interesting that so many whites adopt Asian children and don't think it is worth the extra time or expense to adopt their own. It is kind of sad. At least other races seem to look out for their own people and adopt their own kind. I almost think whites do it so it will be OBVIOUS to others that they opened their home to an orphan and it makes them look good. I really wish more Americans of any color thought it was worthe the time and expense to adopt other Americans. I hate knowing that we have so many children in "the system" but we are bringing kids over from other countries.

God, are you stupid!
Seriously...if you want more adoptable babies in this country LISTEN to me and the person above. Fight to change the laws and attitude in this country that put the rights of "egg and sperm suppliers" (I cannot call these people PARENTS) above the rights of children. Each day in the U.S. scores of innocent children are given back to drug addicted, convict, alcoholic parents for 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances...or we let them lanquish in foster care while we try to let their "parents" get there act together...all while potential adoptive families sit empty-handed. This HAS to stop!

It doesn't matter why this couple have chosen to adopt a Korean baby; the fact is, they are giving a child a very stable home and the child will be well provided for. How good a parent someone in the acting business can be is a point for discussion, however, the fact remains, this child is going into a family situation and by that I mean married parents! Good for them!

I say "amen" to that!

Hi Maggie
Could you share with me the name of the adoption agency that you used to adopt your children from Russia.
Many thanks

US laws make it hard to adopt a child here without either biological parent having the ability later to come back and claim the child. Who wants that knock on the door? The fees are high for a US baby and while you can adopt another race easier, you also are plagued with drug and alcohol issues of the child. Also, white Americans adopting a AforAmerican child is also viewed as cultural genocide. Are we really qualified to race a black child with all the race and discrimination issues they face? There is far more to think about than why not adopt here in the US. Every child needs a home regardless of where they are born. Speaking as an adoptive mom in FL.

Well, in fact there IS a reason why people look overseas to adopt, and it has nothing to do with not "wanting" the babies here. American adoption laws vary wildly from state to state. Many families have been taken for a ride by birthfamilies who wish to have support through their pregnancies but have no intention of actually placing their child at birth. These potential adoptive families are out of those resources -- time, emotional input, and money. It's not easy. Overseas adoptions are attractive because many (not all) programs are reasonably straight-forward, if not increasingly lengthy processes. Korea, while looking to decrease their adoptions overseas, is still a very established process. Even if the wait times vary (which they do), you know you will have a child at the end of the process. You can't say that in America. You might run out of money chasing the dream long before you have a child.

Hope she plans on quitting smoking! All that second hand smoke!
And why is it that celebrity women don't have their own babies anymore? I mean, it's cool that all these children are getting wonderful homes and parents but are they afraid of getting FAT? Not getting a ROLE? What's up with that?

My husband and I wanted to adopt a child from the US, but were advised against it by a state agency. We weren't looking for a newborn because we knew that older children (2 years+) were often passed over by prospective adoptive parents who only want a baby, and we felt that we could provide a good, loving, safe home to a slightly older child. But, because we had our own biological children, the agency suggested that sometimes the biological parents of the adoptive child could be troublesome to our family...and essentially said it works best if we didn't already have kids, especially if the child hadn't been given up voluntary (which she indicated is the usually the case with the toddlers and young children). While we were very sad about this, we didn't want to jeopardize the safety and well-being of our children so we pulled our application.
Now, we sponsor needy children at Christmas to ensure that they have the basics (warm clothing, footware, coats/hats/gloves) and some fun stuff too (toys, games, books, etc.). And, as our children are growing up, I want to talk to my husband about getting involved in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. There are many ways to help needy kids.

I have heard that "stupid" comment so much I could scream. Unless you have tried to adopt you wouldn't know that it takes 7 years on a waiting list with no guarantees. You could arrange a private adoption but you run the risk of the mother changing her mind with a year (now that the child has bonded) and taking the baby back. I was already 35 before I came to a decision to stop with the treatments and surgerys and go for it. I had a beautiful little girl from Korea within 6 months and who are you to say who deserves to be a parent?

It is easier to adopt abroad than in the US. My husband and I have four adopted daughters. We are white and two of our children are Colombian, one is African American and one is bi-racial. She is black and Colombian. Unfortunately, there is enough prejudice to go around because five black couples turned her down because shes biracial. Love comes in every color.
