eve in nj, i do have 4 fantastic boys, yep the body changed but you know what? they were all born heathy. they all turned out great, and no health problems because i ate right, yep gained the weight, some women like angelina can have twins and still look great, but she chose both, to adopt and have her own, kodo's to her.

i thank god everyday for adoption. my mother and uncle are both adopted and they both are wonderful people. and another note my husband and his biological siblings were all adopted and unfortunatley only he and his baby brother got to be together. but years later they tracked eachother down and now they are a family again. He just found his big sister recently and found out he is a uncle and she found out she is a aunt .can't get better then that.so yes adoption is very close to my heart.

I am sure there are babies right here in the US that need adopting. Why do celebs need to go elsewhere? Is it the "in thing" to do?

Oh for the love of... yes, clearly adopting a child from Korea is a terrible thing because we gots us some American babies. I'm not a Heigl fan but screw you, why do you have to act so offended when someone chooses to take in a child and give them a better life? Why do you care where they are from? It's a matter of family not country, shut up with that dumb as hell argument.
Seriously people grow up! It is a lot easier and less expensive to adopt outside the U.S. Also it is a lot quicker than domestic. Children in other countries arent fortunate as those in the U.S. They are in desperate need to be adopted not to mention the population control in other countries. The only reason you people have an issue is because it is a celebrity, that is all point blank. Who cares why she adopted from China. A child is a child, that is one less child in the world that will die from hunger, etc. My husband and I are also looking into adopting a child and I will adopt from another country as well. It is a lot smoother and less stressful.

Some of our facts are wrong, esp on foreign adoption. It is not cheaper out of the country. I was living in Korea, 22 year ago and as a family we decided to add a girl to the family. The process took almost 3 years and the fees started at $550 and ended up at close to $10,000 when all was said and done. Another point to consider...once you have your final papers in a foreign country you can take the child and leave. I have talked with adoptive parents and their children 10-15 years after final adoption in the US and bing bong the birth family shows up and makes life very difficult for all. I know Of one case that ended up in courts with a couple of people going to lock up.
again sweetandsexy i was referring to the actresses who dont want to have their own children because it would destroy their body. read the whole darn thing before you make ur nasty comments. but i do have to say i do have 4 great looking boys lol jealous are we?

I am 22 years old, child-free and intend to remain that way for some time. No jealousy here.
I read your entire comment. Everyone who responded gathered the same thing from your post, so perhaps you should learn how to convey your ideas more clearly.
Choosing to adopt is a personal decision and a noble one at that. Not "destroying" one's body is not a "reason" for adopting a child. People adopt because they want to provide a loving home for a child in need. The lack of stretch marks is simply an added bonus.
Congrats to them! A baby is a wonderful blessing! @Kevin...have you ever tried to adopt in this country? It is expensive and can take years. Also, the biological parents can challenge the adoption and win after years. @bev...just because she has money for in vitro doesn't mean it will be successful. There could be a genetic incompatibility which will always result in a miscarriage. Don't judge something which you have no knowledge of. Lastly, who cares where the baby is from? As long as the baby is loved and provided for, nothing else matters.

there has been so many actresses who even admitted they didnt want to go thru the hassle that it was easier to adopt, they have the money. if you learn how to read the whole thing and not jump to conclusions, you could save face on your comments, and from the sounds of it you should stay child free

LOL
I may have been offended if you knew how to construct a sentence or use punctuation. But since you were obviously too busy focusing on pushing babies out of your vagina to learn either I am simply left laughing. Get off of the computer and go take care of your flock of kids.
For the record, it wasn't personal until you made it personal. I have a life to attend to now. Enjoy the rest of your day.
I think it's wonderful that people that can afford to do so, open their hearts and homes to a child in need of love and a family. Having suffered for years myself with infertility and the consuming trials of treatment, I am happy that this famous couple didn't get bogged down with that mindset and have found a beautiful child to love. I do agree with others that have noted that their are so many children in need of love and stability in this country, I wish people that have the money to pursue private adoption would examine the possibilies of adopting a child from right here in the good old USA.....no matter the race, their are so many children needing stable parents and a home.

KW, you're right, every child needs a family but we have plenty of children of all races in this country that need a home and loving family.
My husband and I are both caucasian and we adopted 2 bi-racial little boys, from this country, open adoption and we are having no problems with it. I hate to burst your bubble but no one has questioned our ability to raise bi-racial children and we've been totally embraced by the black community (more so then the white community).
Please, if you're thinking of adopting, think USA, any race, you won't regret it.

Who cares where they are getting their child from? They are going to bring home a baby who needs a family. End of story. Ever try to adopt in this country? It takes years, is extremely expensive, and there is no guarantee when all is said and done that you will even go home with a child. Or that the biological parents won't come back later and change their minds and take the child back. I would love to adopt, but I can't afford it, not here or abroad. But in a few years when I can afford it, I intend to adopt (and I already have 2 biological children, both daughters). Anyone who adopts a child, no matter what country they choose to adopt from, is a special person and should be applauded not insulted, for choosing to adopt. My cousin was asopted, and I remember what my aunt said about him "You are a child of my heart. You didn't grow under it, but inside of it."

If you kill all the white folks then you'll be stuck with nothing but idiots like yourself. Come to think of it that would be awfully poetic.

Katie, I'm sorry that your US experience went so wrong and I'm happy you got a child but not every adoption in the US is like yours, especially mine. Our whole process from beginning to end took a little over a year. Most of that year was spent on paperwork, background checks, references, classes and homestudy. After all that certification. Once we were certified we received a baby in a little over 45 days. It can happen but you have to want to be a parent to any child available not just a certain child. Once you start saying I only want that or that, your chances of a match go down drastically.

I'm sorry to inform you that you can adopt a child fron the us without a knock on the door. Do you believe everything you read or hear? When a bio's rights have been taken away they cannot get that child back!!If everyone believed what u did there would be NO US adoptions.I have 3 adopted children from the US-1 was only 3 months old and she is my child and always will be and the same with my other children!!!!

So yeah, maybe this child will spend some time with a nanny, but she'll be provided for. She will never go hungry and she'll be free to attend college if that is what she desires. My parents worked like crazy when I was little but I never felt unloved, and certainly wasn't mad at them when I needed the college fund. Busy actresses can still provide great homes.
And as for the clamoring about American babies, yeah, there are issues with parental rights, and a lot of those kids have serious problems. Call me selfish, but I don't want to raise a baby who has an IQ of 80 because the birthmother drank. Kudos to those of you who do this- you are wonderful- but it isn't for me.
Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a citizen of EARTH. Korean, Russian, Kenyan, Colombian, whatever. Kids need parents and food. Their geographical proximity to my house means nothing to me.

We adopted from the US because we wanted a newborn. Newborns are not available from overseas adoptions. We chose this route because we already had a child who was 5 at the time and after some counseling we decided that newborn would be easier for him to for a bond with rather than a walking talking baby. Adoption is a deeply personal experience - no two adoptions are unlike. The world is so quick to judge. My reaction is simply to be happy that these children now have homes.
