Paula Thinks Ellen Will Be 'Gr8'

Now that the news has had a day or so to settle in, Paula Abdul is letting her feelings known about Ellen DeGeneres taking her vacant seat on the 'American Idol' judging panel. Using her Twitter, which she also used to break the news that she was leaving 'Idol,' Abdul says she wishes DeGeneres "the best of luck," and that she (prepare for Twitter/IM lingo) "will b a gr8 judge on Idol."

Abdul didn't stop there with the kind words. "She is wildly funny, talented," she said of DeGeneres.

Abdul joins the majority of PopEater readers when it comes to liking the move, according to yesterday's poll results. In an article in which we endorsed the Ellen/'Idol' move and gave our explanations why it would work, 54 percent of fans said they like the hiring initially and are sticking with their gut. Seven percent said they didn't like the fit at first, but have since changed their mind.

After bashing Frank for his right of speech..I agree with him 100%. I have never watched or will ever watch Idol. I dare you call me ignorant or uneducated. You are the one who is an ignorant and an uneducated jerk for siding with someone like Ellen and that silly idol show. Maybe you should stop watching Ellen and Idol and watch Sports or shows which will help you learn wonderful things about our great universe. These shows are for people who have no other interests in life. I feel sorry for all of you!!!

I read all the comments about Ellen "degenerate" and personally I don't like her or her choices. But putting that aside....what can she bring to Idol? She has no background of singing or that aspect of entertainment. She is a comedian and a talk show host. She is not the right person for Idol.

I don't watch "Idol" much, but when I do, I always enjoyed the banter between paula and simon. I always thought they really had a secret, off show romance going and the two of them made the show very interesting. really sorry to see paula go she was a real asset to the show. Simon is the front runner, hope he gets paula back !

Musical talent????? No. I like Ellen as a comedian but not a judge of musical talent. Maybe they thought the show needed more humour - personally, I will quit watching it.

Two things... For you gay people, I have nothing against you, but “same sex” was not meant to be. A man and a woman can produce and fill the earth, not a man and a man or a woman and woman. What will children think when they see “same sex?” No, it’s not a choice of sex for them because they will never have a chance to know what’s right and what’s wrong (children take in what they see). This world has enough issues as it is and “same sex” is just putting the cherry on top of the cake...it’s filthy and it’s wrong! They’re are too many women and men on this earth and no excuse for a man turning to another man and in contrary.

As for Ellen on Idol; American Idol, for what I can see, is about singing talent. Forgive me if I’m wrong but isn’t Ellen a “comedy man?” If Ellen has never been a singer or has produced in that field, then I say she’s the wrong fit.

Thanks for your comment PULPDADDY (intentional misspelling). You make yourself look ignorant by discussing your homophobic idealogy when the article wasn't about sexual preference at all. But, I guess you take every opportunity to make homophobic comments. In my experience, men who get upset over homosexuality are usually afraid they are really gay themselves. Is that hitting the nail on the head PULPDADDY? Really, it doesn't have the connotation that it did when you were boy. It's okay to just be yourself.
