The best thing she could have done is divorcing Bobby Brown. He really seemed to bring her down. I watched "being Bobby brown" a few times. Could not believe her state of mind. She appeared distant and depressed. I wish her the best and hope she makes a memorable comeback.
Also, hopes she stays away from Bobby Brown.

Saw Whitney on GMA, pitiful, come back? Good luck, she should be in counseling, and should be taking vocal lessons to try and regain what once was a glorious voice. Sorry Whitney, I love you and have all your records, but its gonna take a miracle as laura nyro and labelle once sang. Whitney please make a real come back, as in I Will always you style.
I wish people would stop blaming Bobby for Whitney's problems. Whitney had issues with drugs long before she met Bobby. Clive Davis and Arista's marketing department did a really good job with promotion and packaging. You brought the brand, but Whitney showed her true self.
If you listen to what she is saying Bobbie wasn't the problem. Everyone wants to keep blaming Bobby. That was an image painted of her. She wasn't that person and you also have to look at he had his own thing going. He dropped to be by her side. Give him some credit. No, I don't agree with some of his behavior. But understand how men feel when they are not having their own identity.
where was their daughter when they were "sitting there looking at each other?" in their drug-addled state?

I agree............Who was taking care of their daughter while they were wacked out on crack and heroin? HUH?
She's got a new album out, so of course she is trying to clean up. Hope she stays this way. Very sad. One of the most talented people ever.
Respect, NO..,
You know, many drug addicts can be very complicated people. Some, like Whitney, like myself and like many others, do indeed turn their lives around. I cannot speak for others, but for me, it was my chldren, specifically, my teenaged daughter who needed me as only a young teen girl can need their Mom that made me feel strong enough to do what I needed to do to get back on track. It was not easy and the residuals are there...but I put everything else in my life away. With the help of a good, realistic, down to earth program I was able to stop what I was doing and become the Mom that God had been gracious enough to permit me to be. I have been clean for going on 13 years now. My daughter is married, has three children and is teaching special needs children. Even though she lives in another city, she manages to still lean on me for everything from childcare, to advice re her marriage (her Dad and I have been together for more than 30 years) fashion and makeup tips, help with her college assignments (she's in her last year) to just wanting to visit so she can play with our new puppy. Life can be normal after addiction. Your children tend to love you unconditionally you know, and when they have seen you weather such a storm as addiction, they know that your own strength also lies within them and that they can accomplish any goal they set for themselves. Don't believe that all addicts negelct their kids. Sometimes, it's the fact that they (we) have kids that saves them (us) from continuing the insanity.
Oprah, i am disappointed with since her very judgmental put down of Chris Brown (a young man who did something very wrong) who was ultimately a good kid before his fall from grace. She could have used the opportunity to reach out not only to abused women but, also to young men like chris who have been raised this way, to help get a message out there. Oprah is a man hater due her own unfortunate abuse as a hild and has forgotten that women aren't the only ones who need help out there. In a society that already feeds off of every negative thing a black male does, it seems she has done the same thing-maybe to keep her followers happy. Whitney (kudo's for dumping Brown) was a grown woman and has no one to blame for her abuse or drug habits but, herself. However, i'm sure Oprah will make excuses for her actions "trying to be a good wife" and somehow put a halo over whitney's head.

Very well put.
Young man I am a white 50yro grandpa who was brought up in the 70's when the view of drug use was more tolerated. I almost died 4 times before 25 all from $ available drug's and alcohol. Last year Ispent 11 day's in ICU on macine's and death bed from a pescription overdose. What's my excuse with all myadvanteges. Stay strong you will overcome and right it's a man hater society.
If you'd actually read the story, you'd see that Whitney said that she doesn't blame Bobby and she was responsible for her actions. Oprah said she never tried to shift the blame.
Chris Brown was also an adult. He made choices too. I would feel sorry for him and feel that he deserved another chance if he seemed to feel an ounce of REAL remorse for what he did.
Full responsibility would have been immediately issuing an apology that wasn't full of excuses and reasons and instead was a simple "I'm sorry for what I did, it was 100% wrong. I am seeking help in hope that I will never, ever do something like that ever again. There is no excuse for my actions." Instead he reasoned it out, he gave excuses (I grew up in an abusive family, etc). He showed disrespect by taking the time afterward to party and vacation instead of getting into counseling of his OWN FREE WILL and attempting to deal with his problem and keep a low profile. He spent the beginning of the scandal trying to pretend it didn't happen and then when irrefutable evidence was released and public backlash came then suddenly he was very sorry (along with a list of reasons and excuses, and "I don't remember"). There is the difference between being truly remorseful for what you did and wanting to change and being adult and taking responsibility and someone acting like everyone should let you off the hook and see what you did as reasonable. Chris Brown did NOT act adult, he did not take responsibility except to attempt to do damage control and his actions have never shown him to be TRULY remorseful. Whitney Houston got out of her marriage, got herself help and pulled herself out of her situation without being ordered to by a court. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE. It would have made a big difference for Chris if he would have immediately started anger management, counseling, and donated time and money to battered women's charities and shown some remorse that didn't seem to be trying to quell the backlash for his actions. I see everything he did as calculated to try and benefit himself after he did something stupid.
IMO go Whitney, screw Chris Brown.
i agree,Oprah should've reached out to Chris there are two sides to everything,i think Rhianna was just as guilty, she did something to provoke him
Guys get off the "man hater" crap, no wonder you're taking up for Chris Brown- you yourselves sound like you want to hold someone else responsible for your own problems and actions. REAL ADULTS don't spend their days whining about how everybody hates men. If everybody hates you, then you need to start taking a look at yourselves and your actions and figure out what YOU are doing wrong. I don't hate men, but there are some people who I hate that are men because of their self-involved, narcissistic, whiny, "I deserve everything handed to me and I shouldn't have to work for it" attitudes. BTW there are plenty of women like that too and I hate them just the same so GMAFB.
As for the "Rhianna did something to deserve it"- YOU are the reason why domestic violence still goes on and men get away with it. It doesn't matter what she did- she didn't DESERVE what happened to her. He was a man, she was a woman- he knew he was stronger than her and considering the fact that she ended up looking like that we are not talking about him practicing self defense he beat the crap out of her! You should be ashamed. Most of you should. You sound like a bunch of pathetic losers between the "Wahhh every-bodies mean to me, the world is full of man haters" and the "Well Rhianna probably had it coming"- I think there is a reason you have so many issues in your life- you're pieces of crap! It has nothing to do with your gender it has to do with your utter ignorance and astonishing stupidity. Get over yourselves and get a life.
Thank you. Very well said.
Its really sad,.. The drugs really took a toll on her. She just doesnt look good, and her voice isn't nearly what it was. She should be the poster child for "Crack is Whack, Look what it did to me" might keep her kids off drugs.

just what do you think drugs do to you ?After useing so many years yeah its going to do things to your body
The people who are making such harsh judgements about Whitney, that's really what's sad. She is still a beautiful person who is deserving of love and respect. It doesn't make her any less whole or good than anyone else in the world because she made some mistakes. Her mistakes are her own and noone else really has the right to punish her with their words. Her mistakes are for her to learn from and her alone. Society has taught us to be judgemental of ourselves and of others. But what the world really needs right now is unconditional love. We must set a good example for others, encourage people to do well, and forgive them when they make mistakes.
I don't care what anyone says about Whitney. She is a beautiful and talented woman with an extraordinary heart that lost herself somewhere along the way. I love and support her unconditionally and hope that she finds peace.
All the details of her chaotic past and her recovery are noones business but hers.
Negativity and criticism will not help.
People falter because they are hurting. So how is hurting them further going to help?
Be kind. To yourself and to others.
This is my motto: Love.Now.Thankyou.
Penelope are you kidding me??
"All the details of her chaotic past and her recovery are noones business but hers."
She's in the public eye... she went on Oprah and talked about it. The only reason she did that was because she has a new CD, and wants to sell a few.
Cry me a river... everyone makes choices in life. She choose to do drugs.
She ruined her career.
She looks like crap because of it.
And she lost her voice.
If she wants to recover in private then stay out of the public eye.
The only good thing that will come out of this (hopefully) is that kids will see what drugs can do to you and wont do them.
To quote Mrs. Whitney Houston Brown "Crack is Whack"
To bad she didnt take her own advice
I was a huge fan. Had everything in several types of media. The Bodyguard is one of my favorite movies. However, I will NEVER watch it again and I have ditched every piece of Whitney Houston recordings. I don't care how depressed, or drugged etc, there is NO absolutely NO excuse for the way she talked about her fans on their reality show. She puts on her pants one leg at a time just like me, and her poop smells just as bad as anyone elses, and now when I look at her I can only see a hateful used up bag. Her voice is harsh from the terrorization of crack to her system. She is just one more ageing, recovering crack ho.
