Taylor Talks Kanye, Rapper Calls to Apologize Personally

While appearing on 'The View,' Taylor Swift was prompted to talk about the VMAs, when Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech to tell the world that Beyonce's video was better, telling the co-hosts that, "sure," she would meet with him.

"He has not personally reached out or anything," she said at the time. But that has changed. After the show, West called to speak to Swift directly and apologized, Usmagazine.com reports. And the 'You Belong With Me' star accepted.

"Kanye did call me. He was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology," Swift told ABC News Radio. Asked if in the future, everything would be fine between the two, she replied, "Yeah, definitely."

As for the rest of 'The View,' when asked what was going through her mind during the VMAs, the country singer gave an amusing picture.

"Well umm I think my overall thought process went something like: 'Wow, I can't believe I won. This is awesome. Don't trip and fall. I'm going to get to thank the fans, this is so cool. Oh! Kanye West is here. Cool haircut ... what are you doing there? And then, ouch, and then I guess I'm not going to get to thank the fans.'"

"I'm not going to say that I wasn't rattled by it, I had to perform live five minutes later. So I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform," Swift explained.

"Hopefully, if Kanye is watching, he'll know what to do," Whoopi Goldberg added.

Apparently, he was and he did.

I do not condone what Kanye did, and that farce of an apology last night on Leno was completely empty and over acted it was almost sickening. But once again Taylor showed class by accepting his personal apology.

Now, Kanye being a fellow human being with flaws just like the rest of us should go get the help he so obviously needs.

If you actually heard Kanye on Leno you would realize that he actually said he is going to get the help to enable him to stop being self-destructive. Nobody seems to have heard that. He is clearly a brilliant, talented person in pain for whom we should have sympathy. I think Taylor Swift does. She has forgiven him.

I was actually being nice. I did hear him say he "needs" to take some time off NOT that he is going to actually take time off. Personally, I think he is a piece of sh*t. However, seeing some of the visceral hate on other blogs about this topic prompted me to take the high road. I didn't buy that load of crap he was attempting to sell on Leno when I was watching it and I still don't. However, like I said, he is a human being with flaws just like the rest of us and he needs to get help. If you can't accept that there are comments on her that are not completely derogatory then you need to take a brake also.

Such a classy, mature young lady. Taylor can and should write a song about her VMA experience. And Kanye, well if the bottle he and his date were swigging from on the red carpet was actually alcohol, he needs to go away for awhile and get himself some help in a rehab facility.

Also...do notice that Whoopi was sitting there the whole time with her arms folded...that was odd...she is usually the mouth of the show...she did finally say something in the end...prompting Kanye to call Taylor.

Oh My God, I so agree with you! Yesterday when I watched the view, neither Whoopi or Sherri, would condem what Kanye did but instead, chose to remark about how gracious Beyonce was. And today, the same thing. If the tables we turned, and someone did that to a black entertainer, they would have gone on and on about it.Now she will take the credit for the apology. It infuriates me!!!

Yes, I do believe if Taylor was black, he probably would have done the same thing. He really has no respect for anyone. He thinks he is better than anyone else out there (although he has yet to prove it to me) and he is known for making a fool of himself on several awards shows. It's a shame, you'd think losing his mother so tragically would have humbled him. Apparently not. I really hope someone does it to him, just so he knows how it feels!!
