Reynolds Enters Rehab for Prescription Drug Abuse

Burt Reynolds has checked himself into rehab to fight an addiction to painkillers, PEOPLE reports.

"After a recent back surgery, Mr. Reynolds felt like he was going through hell and after a while, realized he was a prisoner of prescription pain pills," his manager said.

"He checked himself into rehab in order to regain control of his life. Mr. Reynolds hopes his story will help others in a similar situation. He hopes they will not try to solve the problem by themselves, but realize that sometimes it is too tough to do on their own and they should seek help, as he did," his manager added.

I think it's horrible how people judge on here in regards to addiction. Yes, some people make mistakes and get addicted to drugs all on their own, but when it happens due to an injury, all I feel is sympathy. I mean, imagine someone close to you going through something that - and you won't be so quick to judge. And to the person talking about what kind of "cushy spa/rehab" Burt is going to should just shut up. This man has been a hollywood icon for some 50yrs or so - what, do you want him to check himself in some sort of free clinic??? why wouldn't he want the best treatment for himself?? he's earned it. I wish Burt lots of luck!!
