Megan Fox: I Ate Lunch in the High School Bathroom

'Jennifer's Body' star Megan Fox has a reputation for sex appeal, but it wasn't always that way. The sexpot told a crowd of fans at a Q&A session at Hollywood & Highland shopping complex, "I was not 'the sh-t' in high school. I was not an outcast but I didn't have a ton of friends. I got picked on, and I ate lunch in the bathroom because I was afraid of being picked on in the cafeteria." According to PEOPLE, the actress added, "I was a loner, and I think that's okay. I think it's perfectly acceptable not to run with cliques."

Fox, 23, also described learning she was attractive to men at the age of 12. "I think initially it's sort of overwhelming because little girls are very much exposed to sexuality through the media and the entertainment industry and advertisements," she said. "So when you realize that you have the same power that you've watched women who've come before you have, it is frightening and you don't know what to do with it."

"I don't think you ever get comfortable with it," Fox added. "It's a strange, sort of almost supernatural thing."

The starlet told PEOPLE at a recent autograph-signing that her frequently saucy quotes are not meant to be outrageous or offensive. "It's just to get through it, I think, because you want to present and you want to be available to your fans, but you also don't want to give too much of yourself away, because people take advantage of that," she said. "It's learning the balance between giving the information that needs to be given, but then also protecting your privacy and your personal life, the things that you hold dear."

"Ninety-eight percent of the things that come out of my mouth are intended to be harmless or even charming," Fox said. "They're not ever intended to be offensive or controversial."

This poor girl has a lot to learn. I don't think she has matured enough to understand the position she is in. I truly think she needs to have someone help her with her interviews and stop "wingin' it". She is going to ruin her career.

She is going to ruin her career??? She was voted the most sexest woman alive. Women who are jealous of her sheer beauty only wished that her career would fail. But she has a bright future ahead of her. She is the modern day sex symbol for my generation.

And the fact that she was picked on in High school makes me respect her even more. I know that those people that picked on her must feel like complete idiots. While she is a mult- millionare- they are probably still living at home with their parents, or at a low paying job somewhere dreaming that they would of treated her nicer. Funny how life is.

Oh, what a crock. TMZ has pictures of Megan Fox in school - she was a cheerleader for pete's sake. After the comments she made about Michael Bay and the backlash from that crew letter calling her dumb as a rock, this sounds like an attempt at damage control by tossing down the pity-me card.

Yes, I saw those pictures too. Megan wasn't anymore of an outcast than I was (and I wasn't). Shame on her for lying and looking for sympathy. I think she's a gorgeous girl, but she has some problems she needs to deal with, if she wants to be taken as a serious actress.

Just because you're a cheerleader in high school doesn't automatically make you popular. Just because a girl is beautiful, doesn't mean she had a ton of friends and was super confident. Megan Fox is a knockout stunner. But she is young. At her age, I didn't know how to present myself all that well around people, and I wasn't in the public eye getting scrutinized for every word that came out of my mouth. She's probably trying to be relatable to people by saying things like "she ate lunch in the bathroom in high school." I'm sure we all felt insecure at times then. It's certainly not an easy time, being in high school, and now she's dealing with the same crap on a global scale. Cut the poor girl some slack.

Oh, give me a break. Of course being a cheerleader goes against the "I was a loner eating in the bathroom" image she's going with. Please realize this, Megan is smart. She's following the Angelina Jolie playbook for success, step by step. Kudos to her. But guess what? Angelina really was a freak as a teen, doing disturbed things that loners do. She wasn't in a cheerleader outfit and pom poms doing pyramids on Friday night. Megan was. Apples and oranges, and Megan is taking everyone for a ride if they believe this. She's just trying to make herself more "relatable" so ugly boys and girls can feel like they have a chance to be her bff or bf. "See, she used to eat in the bathroom, just like me!" lol

You make some good points, MO. I do like Megan. I just wish she would listen to her publicist and stop winging it in interviews, because she is coming across as difficult to work with. extremely immature, not gracious at all and not so truthful. She's not handling the attention well, and really needs to do a sit down with her team to come up with some damage control.
