I love Ellen, but I don't think Idol is the right place for her.. she's hilarious, but what good could she do judging a singing talent show? They shoulda just upped Paula's paycheck..

The producers of "Idol" should have given Paula the money. Yes, she's crazy, but she's our crazy. Ellen is the worst choice ever. She's old, not funny and can't even dance. "Idol" is great because families can watch the show together. Now, what young person cares about Ellen? Just goes to show you Gay's rule Hollywood, which before this boneheaded move, was a good thing.

Paula was okay and Ellen doesn't need defending; she's a comedienne who certainly talks about other people in her acts and will either have a response on not. She certainly won't be able to imitate Paula's dancing, that's for sure, but Paula has certainly given any comedian enough material and has been talked about PLENTY; from the Cory Booker thing to her "erratic" behavior on some shows that resulted in people saying she was "drunk." What is disturbing was seeing all those people at BAM who clearly didn't "belong" there. lol! Brooklyn is being overrun by all these undesirables that are remaking it into Manhattan. For a culture that claims to value independence and individuality, "fitting in" is awfully important and the homogenizing of every environment has become its mark. A real shame in regard to Brooklyn. Why don't we build them a peninsula off long island to go to so we can have Brooklyn back before they destroy it with any more of their sky scraping eyesores, massive baby buggies, sitting motionless in concert halls, lack of hand washing and generally unfriendly rudeness?

I will miss Paula on American Idol. She did a great job for many years. Idol should have negotiated with her but unfortunately chose not to do it. Simon received a large increase. Since he was so greedy they refused to give Paula what she asked. Paula was kind and encouraging to all the contestants unlike the crude and insulting Simon. I don't like Ellen and most likely won't watch Idol anymore. Paula, I hope the kindness you showed the Idol contestants will be shown to you. I wish you the best. You are a lady.

Really? Is she that pathetic that she needs to stoop to the high school level of making fun of someone just to grab peoples attention and get them to watch her show. Seriously, getting rid of Paula on American Idol was the best choice the could have made, shes a drunking, pill popping mess. Ellen will actually be coherent, if she does dance to the contestants songs, she wont look like shes going to fall over and pass out, and even though she doesnt have a huge musical backround, you need comment sence to know if someone sounds good or not, its not hard to notice if someone messes up words or goes off key, and Ellen will actually give good feedback rather than just saying "I, Im speechlesd, I dont know what to say, or I love you, or I just, eh, I dont know" shes rediculous. Her little act was childish .... I wonder if her and Kanye are friends ....

Ellen has no talent or judging talent skills. Paula did, but couldn't stay sober enough. I think the show is going down in my opinion and they are doing what they can to try to save it. Especially after the phone fraud type thing on how Chris won over Adam. But if voters didn't vote Adam to win due to his being Gay (which I don't believe) then they will loose viewers due to a gay judge. We will see how long she stays. If for one season or more. That will tell the tale. I think she will get alot of hate comments from mad untalented contestants who get low feedback from her. She will always have Gay to poke at. I personally doubt I will watch this season. I have always loved AI but this year I think it will be even worse than last.

I'm sure Ellen approved this skit before it aired. She is very grounded and knows it was all in fun. She was most likely selected to ease Paula's absence and will most likely be there for one season. Any other person would have been shunned like an outsider (just like Cara was/is). Honestly people... Ellen hired because she is gay.... come on... stop! A good publicity stunt! Fun for a bit, but she really has no qualifying background to make it stick.

Paula wasn't asking for more in a greedy way. Did you happen to notice what Simon got... try 36 million and Secrest still earned a ton more than what Paula was asking for. She more than deserved what she asked for.

When Paula left Idol I left. She was as, important to me or even more than Simon. I won't be watching Ellen. I don't watch her show and she has ruined Idol. I think American Idol made a big mistakes. I think the majority of Americans don't approve of same sex marriages.
