Deryck?? Someone has to explain to me just how some of these people come up with the spelling of their names. Is this the cool thing to do now? I'm forever seeing names spelled in ways I've never seen.
Guess they're trying to make some sort of stupid statement about their individuality.

thats the name his mama gave him
It is usually customary for the parents to name their children and decide on the spelling of that name.
Or...their parents chose the spelling.
Deryck is an established variation of the name Derek. If you would broaden your world beyond the boob tube, pop news, sports, etc., you might not be so surprised/turned off. Travel a bit, in the UK it's not an unpopular spelling. And I'd add it's a name found in several other European countries, all with different spellings to suit the particular vowel and consonant characteristics of those languages.
Just as Conor is also spelled Conner, Connor, etc. and so on you narrow minded little boob. Get a life beyond the two friends you have.
He's Canandian. They are terrible at spelling and anything else that requires use of a brain. aye
Shawn: The correct spelling is Canadian. Also, it is "Eh", not "aye"
WOW! Big shocker!

Ok Avril, you just lost one fan. You just put yourself on my Granddaughter's "forbidden" list. She will not be allowed to watch or purchase anything that's remotely connected to you. "I love him with all of my heart" but I'm not happy with that so I'm going to break a young man's heart, spit in the face of commitment & move on towards greener grass. With values like yours, what makes you think I would want her to follow your example?
Three years? That's absolutely nothing compared to the lifetime you promised at the altar....so the grass is greener over there, huh? Maybe that's true. It still has to be mowed. Good-bye, Avril!

I find it strange how people who do not know the people personally feel like they have the right to tell them they should stay married. The only people that know the real story are the couple. And if you stop buying albums/merchandise because someone gets a divorce, your playlist is going to be very short.
Fran, Shad-Up! How'd that "ugly" man ever get her in the first place?
Fran are you serious your going to ban avril music just because her marriage did not work seriously you have left me in ahhh at how stupid people really can be...so his heart is broken people move on they grow some grow together some grow apart that is no reason to ban someone...you have no clue went on behind the scenes maybe he was mentally absusive maybe he did support her dreams you have no idea...i wish people wernt so small minded and quick to judge!
I completely agree with Fran. And all of you who don't don't really get her point. Obviously we don't have the whole story, but the evidence seems strong that Avril simply lost interest in the marriage and decided to move on. Which is incredibly wrong. She treated the marriage like a dating relationship, and it's ok that Fran is basing her buying motives for her granddaughter on Avril's behavior. Avril is not honoring her commitment of marriage and that bothers me too (and it should bother all of you)!
Wow so you would rather her stay married even if they are both unhappy, just for the sake of them being married??? That's sad! What happens if they stayed married and he misses the chance to really be happy??? Everyone deserves to be happy!
Cut Fran some slack...take it from someone who married too young and has 20 years under their belt, "happy" is relative. It is an emotion that is fleeting and not based in logic. Happiness comes and goes. You can marry your soul-mate and will go through periods of unhappiness. Powering through those times always gives way to a deeper, richer connection. It's the struggle that makes you value the relationship even more. While Fran may have gone a bit overboard, I see where she is coming from. There is something to be said about honoring a commitment.
Really? You dont know what was going on in her life and her personal life should not have anything to do with her fans. My parents were together for more then ten years and they spilt but last summer. They didnt have exactly a nice divorice and the way that Avril is handling this is wonderful. She is preventing him a lot more pain in the long run. If they had stayed together and she wasnt happy then it would have caused fights and their relationship and friendship would be ruined completely.
Fran, you sound like a nosy busy-body. Your "granddaughter's forbidden list"? Are you raising your granddaughter? If not, you have no business making a forbidden list for her. If you are raising her, why is that? Sounds like a lot of fodder for us to judge YOU.
And I think Avril will do OK without your granddaughter's purchases, so get over your self-righteous, smug, judgmental self.
You have got to be kidding me right? Thats just dumb. Avril is the best! You cant promise you'll always feel the same way. I was in her husbands place and even i think avril has the right. OKay so what it was only three years! idiots go to vegas get drunk and do it for less time! Your being harsh. Its dumb. Besides all this is just gossip. Mayb..maybe, the only thing thts true is they're getting a divorce. All the details can be wrong ya know
Mike, Maybe these celebrities make up their own name, but people like you and me are given their names by our parents. My mother spelled my common name very differently back in the 50's before it was heard of, so I of course had no say in the matter. I usually like the way my name is spelled but sometimes if I am in a hurry or it is something legal it gets to be a pain, cause people ALWAYS ask me about it.
