Charlize Theron Won't Get Married Until Gay Friends Can

Actress Charlize Theron has no plans to marry her boyfriend of eight years, Stuart Townsend until there is marriage equality. On Thursday's episode of 'The View,' the actress revealed, ""I don't want to get married because right now the institution of marriage feels very one-sided, and I want to live in a country where we all have equal rights," Theron said.

"I have so many friends who are gays and lesbians who would so badly want to get married, that I wouldn't be able to sleep with myself," she added. Watch the video (forward to 5:45), or read her interview with MovieFone where she also discusses gay marriage.

I love her to death but, if I can't marry her, I don't care what she thinks about marriage.

There are HUGE problems in the world today, many in her homeland; with envoronment, genocide, climate change, AIDS in Africa and on and on. So I don't give one whit about "alternative lifestyles" and their rights. ( If person claimed they were "born a pedophile; would it be OK to marry little children? No, it would not. Be what you want but control perverse (ususual) behavior.

In the mean time, join with George Clooney or Robert Redford and try to save "someone " or "something" OF VALUE that is left on this dying planet.

What an ego she has. I have gay friends too, but the fact she thinks her opinion matters even a little tells me she is living in the twilight zone.

Well, let's see-- according to Leviticus (the Book usually quoted "anti-homosexuality"): if a man and a woman have sexual relations during her menstrual period, then they must be cast off from the community. A woman is considered unclean and should be isolated for two weeks, and can't not be completely purified until she sacrifices two turtledoves. If a person has a skin disease, then he should rip his clothing, NOT brush his hair, and should go around shouting, "Unclean, unclean!" Any person committing adultery or dishonoring their parents should be put to immediate death. (HHmm, that would effect between 50&60% of ALL married people).
But, the Bible also states we are beautifully and fearfully made. Jesus loved everyone, but he especially reached out to the "fringe element" (remember the woman at the well, and the Samitarian on the side of the road who had been beaten).
I could go on, and point out the INCONSISTENCIES w/in the Bible, but I won't.
Marriage is only sacred IF the people two w/in the marriage make it so. Many many many straight people who married make a MOCKERY out of marriage that has nothing to do with gay rights.
Please, before you spout your bigoted hate, ask yourself, "What would Jesus do?"
