Charlize Theron Won't Get Married Until Gay Friends Can

Actress Charlize Theron has no plans to marry her boyfriend of eight years, Stuart Townsend until there is marriage equality. On Thursday's episode of 'The View,' the actress revealed, ""I don't want to get married because right now the institution of marriage feels very one-sided, and I want to live in a country where we all have equal rights," Theron said.

"I have so many friends who are gays and lesbians who would so badly want to get married, that I wouldn't be able to sleep with myself," she added. Watch the video (forward to 5:45), or read her interview with MovieFone where she also discusses gay marriage.

I dont think equal rights are the issue. Gay marriage is not about equality. It is about granting a vocal minority group equal recongnition as married couples. If this was about equal rights then people would be opening marriages to having more than one partner, marring cousins, etc.

Pro-equality? What the heck is that? Marriage is not just a tradition. It is an institution created by God. No where in the Bible does God ordain gay marriages. God did, however, give man specific instructions regarding his union with his WIFE, and woman clear instructions regarding her union with her HUSBAND. As for the comment that heterosexual marriages are failing, that is based on the two people who marry. People spend more time picking out furniture than they do a suitable mate.
