Radio Jock Pushes Taylor Swift's Buttons

The country-pop star was making the rounds today doing radio interviews when she encountered a persistent inquisitor on the MJ Morning Show out of Tampa Bay. After three attempts to shut that line of questioning down, Swift grew testy and walked away from the phone. Hear the complete exchange, which starts off cordial enough:First, the jock asked her to lay out the scene of the night with Kanye West.
Response: "I'm just honestly trying not to make it into a bigger deal than it already is. It's kind of become more of a big deal than I ever thought it would be. I just, you know, it happened on TV, so everybody saw what happened. I just would like to move on maybe a little bit."
Acting as if he didn't hear a single word she just said, MJ asked if she thought the whole thing was scripted.
Response: "Well ... you know, I um ... I didn't know what to think, but I think that we should maybe talk about something else, because, um, I've talked about this in one interview, and that was going to be it. It's not something I feel like we need to keep talking about."
Finally, the host asked if she thought West's apologies have been sincere.
Response: "I really would appreciate it if we could talk about something else, because I've asked you three times now, and I'm trying to be nice about it. It just isn't something we need to spend this whole interview talking about."
At that, MJ offered to give Swift "a couple of tips" about handling interviews, rightly saying that questions about the VMAs incident were not going to end with him. He started asking YET ANOTHER Kanye question before Swift's publicist jumped on the line to ask if they could move on. Arguing ensued and the call was terminated ... by the radio host.

He should have stopped talking about it, he really should have. She has the right to not talk about something that she's tired of talking about. She's not obligated to answer all of the questions, and I think he just should have let it go when she asked him to move on to something else, it's just the courteous thing to do. Everyone who saw the award show, and has seen the magazines knows what happened. The only thing we didn't see was what went on backstage, and when she came out later she was happy, and doing well. Just let it go.

I think he should have been the kind of radio host to keep this as old news, so other radio host would have been scooping on old news, since it is OLD news. Nothing wrong with a fast recap then drop it to better things like her records, futur plans stuff like that. There may have been something she would have thrown in there to catch everyone's ear. Good Job MJ, way to blow that one by ignoring her request. It's not like it wasn't on T.V the news and all over the place. Tampa Bay? This market was very fortunate to land an interview with Taylor. Then, this major market wannabe tries his best to embarrass Swift by acting anything other than a Southern gentleman. Why do these people keep bothering this young girl? She didn't do anything wrong. They should ask about her music -- her writing, singing, performing -- as she is multi talented. Why not ask Kanye about the incident...grill him; he's the one who created this problem. All she did was stand by and watch in shock. He's a jerk and, in comparison, lacking greatly in talent. You don't even need a singing voice to do rap...all talk; no talent.
